If this was a £10-per-night backpacker hostel, I wouldn't have minded. However, when I walk into a place that charges me nearly £40 for a night's stay, I do not want to walk into a dirty bar with sticky floors first thing. The receptionist tried to overcharge me twice for the room (which, to be fair, was decent), and when I came back at night I couldn't even sleep because said bar was playing music so loud the walls of my room vibrated. Until about 3am. In a word: Unbelievable.

Impossible to sleep due to the bar playing live music till 4am. I am surprised it's even legal to offer accommodation with such noise pollution, especially given that the bar and hostel are run by the same management. Had to ask for a hair dryer and earplugs repeatedly. Sheets and towels were clean but the facilities are very old and bathroom had some encrusted dirt. Would not recommend it, unless your aim is to hear loud music and have walls trembling till the sun comes up.

Comfortable room, but very loud at night. Dubstep blaring from the bar/club till 4am was not fun, but other than that I had a nice stay :)

Friendly staff, clean room. Can get loud at night - they provide you with earphones!

I wouldn't recommend this hotel to people you have to work. As it is a late night bar as well, it is incredibly noisy and breakfast is only served from 9am (weekdays) and from 9.30am (Saturday, Sunday) onwards, which meant that I had to pay for my breakfast, but couldn't have any because I had to be at a conference at 9am. No refund or reduction was offered. Besides cleanliness, health and safety is an issue in this hotel (smoke detector was covered, screws were sticking out of the wall).

We had an excellent time, breakfast included is superb, bacon and egs and sausages etc, and a delicious vegetarian fry up. All the staff were delightful and very helpful indeed. The shower was a bit ot an instrument of tortue but otherwise all good
