Staff are a bit immature, unfriendly, and unprofessional. Although I found one or two of them not so bad. Location is great. Great shops all around. Short walk from metro and visitors site. The building is trendy looks like regular hotel. Breakfast all right. Just not a too friendly vibes.

Did not like Madrid at all ,there were no friendly people . We got a shared tiny room it was very noisy at night and morning . It was close to plaza del sol but far from train and park. I thought it was not good for travelers it seemed good for young people who already live in spain and just wanted to party in the city, would not recommend because you can find a quiet place for cheaper

Really chic place for being a hostel. Beds were really comfy, had a nice shelf next to bed with light and plug. Nice to have ensuite bathrooms plus shared bathrooms for when you have a full room. The common area wasn't as comfortable as other hostels I've stayed at which made it a little more challenging to meet people. Overall, I'd for sure come back. Location is awesome!

clean and quiet -- fun for the younger people and just right for an old man like me --- they close the roof top bar at midnight and everyone goes to sleep. The housekeeping staff keeps everything spotless. The location right near the Plaza Mayor is good. The airport shuttle stops at the front door every hour. I could not be more pleased.

No lock on bathroom door ensuite. No soap provided for toilet sink. Breakfast is always chaotic with little to no organisation by staff. My room was facing the street so lots of trafic noises. On the plus side, great location. Large comfy bed. Clean facilities. Very hipster/trendy place.

Absolutely great, one of the best hostel I've stayed. Security doors in each level and bedrooms, it makes you comfortable about leaving your things in your locker. Breakfast is great, but a little disorganised - I would suggest tu get food apart from beverages, so the lines would be more manageable. For example, I'd have just coffee one morning and had to stay in the big line the same way. People who are getting more coffee enters and it becomes a mess. That apart, everything else is great.

Maybe have a list of local restaurants for all tastes and budgets.

The Hat is a fantastically well located hostel, literally one minute walk from Placa Mayor et 5 from Puerta del Sol. You can easily all to anywhere from the hat. The staff was very nice and helpful and there's a beautiful terrasse on the top floor with a fantastic view where you can relax. Everyone is so into their electronic devices that it was hard to socialize. The rooms are clean but bring a warm blanket for colder days because I don't think it was provided though every room has a heater.

The luggage room could be better organized. Other than that, our stay was EXCELLENT!

seemed to be a brand new hostel so they were still figuring some things out but its extremely clean and new. located right outside plaza de mayor so you are in the center of the city which is great

Really clean hostel and good for a good nights sleep. Close to the city center. Social scene here is non-existent. A lot of older travelers here, which is fine but not conducive for a "party" scene. If you're looking for a quieter place, definitely recommend this place! The facilities are nice and the staff is really nice and helpful.

Great free breakfast was more encompassing than any other hostel for this price - yogurt, fruit, bread, butter/marmalade/fresh tomato spread, coffee, hot choc - all with a very courteous staff!

I really liked the place, staff was friendly, rooms and beds were new and nice and cosy, enjoyed light above my bed as well as electric outlet, bath was new and clean, new linen already on my bed - all this in the heart of Madrid for a more than fair price - what more do you need? For sure will go back when in Madrid.

Great place. Great staff. Great facilities. And probably the fastest WiFi we have ever had in a hostel. The rooms are clean and very well looked after. The roof terrace has a nice view of the city where you can have a drink or a bite to eat. We were taken care of by the staff with any issue or question we had. It's located just outside of the centre of the city itself, so nicely positioned in Madrid. It's a great hostel with a great atmosphere. Highly recommended.

Central location, good price, comfortable, well designed and well maintained facilities, including a cool bar on the roof terrace, strong wifi signal everywhere (not to be taken for granted). The people, staff and visitors, were nice and helpful. I wish I could've stayed more!

Brilliant hostel, would definitely recommend it!

This place was AMAZING! The beds were the most comfortable I've ever stayed in and the hostel itself was beautifully clean without it feeling 'clinical'. Easy check in and check out. Roof terrace bar was lovely. Only thing is you have to pay for towels and there's no locks on the ensuite shower room doors... free breakfast is a bonus though! Would definitely stay again.
