Very fancy bathroom, beds all had 3 plugs each as well as a USB socket which is amazing. No hot water however which was annoying. Free beer was a nice touch and staff were very friendly
Awesome hostel... So fun, cheap drinks, really great place will totally stay here again!!
Massive bonus is that the bus drops you right outside the hostel! Staff are all really friendly and there's always a great atmosphere. Everyone gets two free beers between 7-8pm every night so it's a great way to meet people, although the common areas are a little small. Free pub crawl a few times a week is a good laugh! Located in district 1 it's within walking distance of markets, bars and museums so saves on taxis. Will definitely stay again if I return to Saigon.
This was the longest stop of my SE Asia loop and I couldn't have been happier with my stay at The Hideout. The staff are wonderful. Very helpful and informative. Great location and the free beers in the evening is a great way to make some fantastic friends at the hostel. Thank you so much. I am planning to come back to Vietnam for a longer time and The Hideout will be my home base while in HCMC.
Everything is good and nice to meet travellers but some of the staff members can be less than helpful and rude! All in all its ok though
The location is really excellent (right in the back-packers quarter of Saigon), the cons are surely the beds which are too small (I felt very uncomfortable and left after 1 night, if you're taller than 1.85 you won't sleep well), there are no individual lights in the rooms, and one only restroom is maybe not enough for a 10 ppl dorm.
A reasonsble hostel. Communal area was VERY small. Free beer between 7pm - 8pm. Rooms were good; clean and modern. Plugs for top bunk are located on the bottom bunk which is annoying. Smell from toilet in the lobby is horrendous. That aside I had a good stay. Not the worst or the best. Id stay again. Burger king nextdoor is a bonus, along with a 'ABC Bakers' a few doors down which is really cheap. Dont book taxi to airport with hostel...more expensive than flagging one on the street.
Can't really fault this hostel. Had everything you want. Free/cheap beers, good wifi, big under bed lockers, nice bathrooms, lift.. Good place to meet people as well. Location is great, close to everything. Definitely stay!
One of my favourite hostels. Excellent location for backpackers, good security, great staff. Small social area but that didn't stop us from having a great night every night!
Not hot shower for 2 days. Staffs are nice and they arrange many tours and book open bus tickets for you. (mainly with TNK travel) 2 free beers/ night, great place to meet new friends. The toilet on the 1st floor stinks. Overall good value for the price and if you don't care much about the cleanliness and don't mind not having hot shower, you will have a great time there.
Fantastic hostel in a great location. The social atmosphere here is the highlight, with 2 free beers a night downstairs it's easy to meet other people before going out on the town to experience the amazing Saigon nightlife. Booking tours and busses from reception is a breeze. The staff are friendly and helpful, one even went out of her way after her shift had ended to help me with an outside matter. There is also a chill room with 100's of movies when you've had enough and just need to relax.
Good hostel with clean beds and great location. Helpful staff.
Nice hostel in the backpacker district of Saigon. Free beer every night for guests, and light breakfast in the morning. Definitely worth staying here for a couple nights!
Place was really nice and in a great location. Very clean and confortable rooms. 2 free beers a night was a great bonus and well as the free breakfast
Serious issues with staff friendliness and cleanliness of the bathrooms. Great location and friendly atmosphere.
Staff were really helpful here and facilities were excellent. Amazing drinks deals for guests and free pub crawl as well. Good location in district 1.
A nice hostel with everything you could ever need. The tuk-tuk drivers were especially friendly and reliable. Every bed has a light, which is nice for reading at night but it was really too bright and other travelers were not polite about using it, all night long...
While the hostel is in a great location and staff were generally good. The place was not swept once and in the three days we stayed the bathroom was minimally cleaned once. The ac did not work in our room and despite multiple efforts to fix it, the problem was never rectified. Breakfast was a baguette with some fruit so minimal which was fine. But the cleanliness was the biggest downfall as well as one bathroom for 10 people.
Amazing atmosphere! DO go for the pub crawl and hang out at the common area - you'll meet many other like-minded and super friendly travellers. The facilities, location and cleanliness were also all superb.
Really central location, helpful staff and spacious dorms with modern ensuites. Overall really pleasant stay!
