Can see why not everyone would warm to the owner - she can be a little brisk - but she\'s really informative and helpful, and the place is a relaxed - a good place to chill out in a city where there\'s not tonnes to do

Very noisy because of bar underneath. Staff wasn't very nice at all: Grumpy and did't say a lot.

The worst welcome we've had during our travel. The first thing the owner told us was: 'Take off your slippers!' No friendiness at all, we felt unwanted there, probably because we were making her work. However, the next morning she was surprisingly helpful with arranging a taxi and bustickets for us. Dorm was rather big with 18 beds, but quite OK, and the hostel itself was clean. Would not stay there again, though.

Interesting place - they could do so much more with it. Good location - close to tourist information, bus station and cafe's. Above a nice bar. Rooms are basic and a little tired but clean and there is a nice common area where you can meet other travellers. The lady who runs this place is very stroppy and there is an over powering smell of wee in the entrance hall from her cats. Overall not a bad choice.

The hostel was fine as long as you don\'t mind cats and karaoke! The karaoke in the bar below kept me up until 3am. The lady who ran the hostel is a little bit crazy and she has 4 cats who live in one of the coridoors and make it smell of cat urine. The beds were quite wobbly, so it's not good for those who fidget at night! Breakfast in the morning was good and the hostel has a friendly atmosphere. Overall it was a good experience. : )

Average place, though there\'s nothing bad about it unless you hate cats - of which there are about 10, and yes they do smell, but not in the rooms or dorm. The lady who runs it is mad, flips from friendly and chatty to snappy, so don\'t count on her help. Close to some good cheap restaurants but I don\'t think there are any sites to see. Shared toilets and shower in kitchen area, more near dorms - all clean. Beds clean and comfy. Free tea, coffee, filtered water, breakfast just jam on toast.
