No security. There are no locks, even for the bathrooms. The "lockers" the hostel provides do not have locks, let alone the ability to use your own lock. I consulted with the receptionist about this issue and he was not helpful. His response to my statement was "I'm sorry" while shrugging his shoulders. At 6:30am, the receptionist and the cleaner decided to loudly discuss their social lives outside the dorm, rudely interrupting 6 people sleeping and trying to have a quiet easter morning.

the house has it all. the owner is there for you. The house will welcome you and make you feel special. They give you they you have and make you feel comfortable. As everything in Argentina...........relax and enjoy

This hostel was pretty disappointing. At the time we stayed there seemed to be a lot of people sharing the 1 bathroom as the other one was broken. When we asked the staff the following day the guy said "thanks for reminding me". Still wasn't dealt with by the time we left. Then on the day we left it was past 9am and breakfast room was closed and not served, so we had to head to the shops. This place is really overpriced for what they offer, but so are lots of places in Argentina.

Kind and friendly staff, with coffee and very fresh pastries for breakfast. Plenty of hot water for showers. The hostel books those adventure activities, but tacks on a surcharge of 25 pesos for each booking. You can book for free at many intown storefronts that sell the local activities.

I liked my stay in this hostel, ended up staying 4 or 5 nights. There is a big space outside for bbq, and there is a very nice bar/restaurant... great food, original cocktails, good music.. There were no lockers... but other than that it was a good place to stay.

We dont usually leave reviews, we only do when we are mislead as USUALLY the reviews are spot on. After almost 2 years of travel, this place unfortunately was one of the worst places we have stayed in. I feel bad writing this because the staff were great, but the hostel really let them down. Location was inaccurate, the place was filthy, no door handles on the shower and toilet (got locked in once), showers didn't work on the first floor, kitchen filthy, breakfast horrid and dorm very expensive.

Hostel was ok, but staff weren't very talkative. There was only one bathroom with toilet for 2 dorm rooms with 10-12 beds. My bunk bed didn't have a ladder so my boyfriend had to lift me up to get into it (so no going to the toilet in the night!) We were only there for one night, but I wouldn't have wanted to stay longer than that. The really great thing about it was that there was a bar/restaurant attached to the hostel with amazing beer and really nice food.

The hosts at the house hostel are genuinely interested in helping make the most of your time in Bariloche. The rooms have all the basic necessities and the atmosphere is very fun. House Hostel is located just a block or two from the water and in the main city center. Upon arrival, we were offered homemade beer and a tour of the space. I highly recommend this hostel for people who want a no-frills, safe, and fun place to relax and enjoy Bariloche.
