Stay here! It really is a 2 minute walk from the bud station and it's super easy to get to the mountain. Very hiker friendly, the host will help you plan your route and catch the bus. Plus breakfast is great as well. 10/10 all around.

Lovely hostel with incredibly friendly and helpful staff, in a convenient location for people who are only in Sokcho for a short amount of time! The atmosphere is calm and more reserved, which was perfect for me but might not be what everyone is looking for. The staff are eager to help impromptu, and all the facilities are well kept. Really great place, thank you!
Fantastic location (just 3mins away from bus station). & i have to say, this hostel has got to be the prettiest hostel i've ever stayed in. The atmosphere is home-ly, & Yoo, the owner, is very friendly and welcoming. Thumbs up for this hostel!
Awesome location, close to everything: restos, transportation, shopping, the beach. Ideal base if you want to go to seoraksan. Hostel itself was really nice and cozy, staff is also super helpful.
Recommended. The location is very good (convenience store and bus stop to Seoraksan just around the corner, intercity terminal 5 min walk). The common area is very very cozy and staff are nice and helpful too. Room was small but very clean and even equipped with a fridge Just the breakfast is a little bit poor considering the room price.
We loved it here. The hostel itself is very cosy. The atmosphere is wonderfully laidback and the location is great with the bus station, seaside and centre right around the corner.
Yoo is a nice and helpful host, the place is clean, the price is good, the location is near everything you might want to see in Sokcho. Great hostel to stay in.
Very nice location with a friendly and helpful owner. All the different decorations make it very cosy. Great place to stay!
Fantastic host, went out of his way to ensure we would get the best from our brief visit. Explained buses and pointed us in the right direction for good local food.
This hostel was absolutely fantastic and I highly recommend it! Great atmosphere, great location for hiking at Seoraksan, everything was clean and functioning and also really well-decorated. Yoo and the staff are all such kind and great people. Perfect low-key environment in which to recuperate from a full day of hiking. If I ever make it to Sokcho again, this is definitely where I'll be staying!! ^^
Probably great Guesthouse. As a hostel, the dorm portion is actually not impressive. Below average creaky bunk beds, and the presence of a TV in a dorm is actually ridiculous. The individual rooms seem much better
I was very thankful that the staff took the time to speak with me about local attractions and how to best reach them. I really felt welcomed at this hostel!
Really nice place with a lovely owner :)
What makes The House Hostel stand out is the friendliness of the owner, Yoo. He sits every guest down upon arrival and provides them with information about Sokcho, local food establishments, buses and routes when in Seoraksan. My sister was particularly taken by him, and he kindly allowed us to keep bags in the hostel after we'd checked out (Ulsanbawi on a cloudless day - well worth it!) The hostel is clean, although it is a slight shame that the 'terrace', or communal, area is closed so early.

The location is great the intercity bus terminal is just 5min away (walking). The express bus terminal is not so close. As soon as we arrived at the hostel the owner explained to us what there is to do in Sokcho, what places to go, which bus to take... His recommendations were good. Expect that the self drawn map is not very accurate and we couldn't find some places on it.
The Owner and his wife are very friendly. The hotel is situated close to restaurants and shops. The place is quiet, well for relaxing after hiking.
The House hostel really is a great place to stay in beautiful Sokcho!! Friendly and helpful staff, very clean, good vibes. I liked everything about it and would stay again for sure!
I had a wonderful stay at this lovely hostel. From the very beginning the owner took special care in explaining all the attractions around Sokcho and how to get there from the hostel. He even has a map showing some good eating places around the town :) His kindness made me feel completely welcome. The kitchen/garden area looked like a vintage cafe and were always pleasant and relaxing. The rooms were cleaned daily and always spotless. 100% recommended!
Difficult to do better. The hotel is beautiful, nice and comfortable. The owner and the rest of the staff are delightful people who provide me precious advice to visit the area.
We have stayed in hostels all over the world and this one was one of the best thus far. The owner (Yoo) is incredibly hospitable and welcoming and went out of his way to make our stay enjoyable, providing information on everything to do in Sokcho. We were impressed that they also offered breakfast from 5am, perfect for hikers planning to head off early. The hostel itself has a very homely and welcoming feel to it, and is conveniently located. It's definitely where you want to stay in Sokcho.
