One of the best hostels i've stayed at so far. Nice staff, very very very good location and atmosphere, also good food for a good price.

Excellent place to hang out with a great location. Noisy outside but earplugs are provided and they work well.

great place to stay. Excellent location, very helpful staff - help getting tickets whether train, plane or bus. Good deck - great place just to hang out.

this hostel is all about the location - and what a location! really really central, but they do give out free ear plugs for a reason >.< i like a smaller feel tbh, but for a big place this was pretty cool. also big plus to the staff - some people i chatted to found them not as helpful as they could have been, but they were really nice to me, answering all my weird transport related questions, and finding me a needle and thread!

Make sure to double check what the staff tells you- very likely they will not give you the right or all the info. Double check all directions, orders, wtc. Otherwise a great place to stay.

Everything was great about this hostel. The facilities were very clean, the staff was friendly, and the location is great. It is a great place to make friends with both foreigners and local people.

The location is good.We can just walk about ten munites to the city centre. The stuff was helpful. They put some maps on the floor that we can easily find the routine.Well it could be better if they offer us more free services.

I had a really good time in this hostel ! Thanks to the people I met there but also thanks to the staff who is really friendly ! They help you as much as possible and come to chat with you to improve their English! The dormitory are really nice and clean, the only suggestion I would make is concerning the toilets (there are a bit too small and dark). Some prices concerning foods & beverages can be a bit expensive but the location of the hostel is really good and you can find everything around !

There were very busy but took the time to help us with any of our needs. Nice place to land for a few days in Kunming. Good atmosphere and friendly staff - I will always stay here when visiting Kunming.

The location of the hotel is near the center and there are also some places to go out and a market next to it. At night there is a night guard. WiFi Internet is only in the lobby/restaurant available. The construction of the bathroom is quite surprising. It is like a house in the room but the roof of it is open and there are no doors. The staff is very helpful. There is a big choice of food in the restaurant but the burger and fries were not very good. There are a lot of people to connect with!

We booked this hostel after reading the reviews on Hostelworld but we were unfortunately a bit disappointed. It's in a prime location in the centre of the city but it can get a bit noisy at nighttime (hostel provides free earplugs). Food and drinks ordered in the cafe there took a really long time to come out - we waited 1hr for cheese on toast and french toast one morning! A lot of students stay longterm in the hostel so the atmosphere didn't lend itself to meeting other travellers.

Loved my time there! It was incredibly convenient to book any tickets I needed, get information about where to go and how to get there, and the layout was very open and had a good flow. Only problem was that I got there at night and had to lug all my things up to the fourth floor, but there were no signs saying it was the hostel, so I looked in and then went back down because it just looked like a bar. Other than that it was great.

Our stay there was spoiled by the fact that it was incredibly cold in the rooms and in the bathroom too! Also, this hostel is not the cleanest I've ever seen. IThere is a nice terrace and a lot of common space but on the other hand it is quite cold and the music could be better (that is, more lively, so that people start to enjoy themselves more). Overall: could be better and I'm gonna check out something else the next time.

I have stayed here many times and everytime i never have any troubles. even when i have gotten sick, the staff has brought me medicine. very friendly staff and the location is the best in kunming. There is no closer place in all of kunming to all the excitement and action.

I booked the room with private bathroom becoz I don't wanna share the toilet with other people. However, the water pressure was extremely low of the shower and I need to wait for at least 10 mins for the warm water. It was really cold in Kuming. With slow running cold water, how can I take a proper shower inside my room . End up, I went to the public bathroom to finish my shower. This is ridiculous which I paid for a higher price for the private bathroom but cant use it becoz of poor facility!!

The Hump is in the central Kunming, perfect location. What is saves on low costs is offset by low services: group shower area, men and women together; shower stalls that can be locked but lack adequate space to keep clothes dry; poor and erratic heating; no top sheets; ear plugs that don't protect against late night noise; lots of non-residents in the halls drawn by the money-making central lounge cafe; charges for internet computer use; charges for any routine bookings. A barracks, to avoid.
