Loved the atmosphere of this hostel! The triple bunks were interesting but very comfortable. The stairs getting to the top were a good addition as it felt very safe. The lockers under the beds are very loud and squeak loud enough to wake everyone up. The location is up quite a steep hill but there is a tram that you can take up. The view is spectacular. Other than that - loved it and will definitely return! They had free food/wine every night which was really fun and a great way to meet people!

Very, very nice, friendly staff. Also a good breakfast. You can eat there so you dodn't have the search for a restaurant when you arrives late. I thank them for everything say to them good team and keep on going like that. Kinds regards

The independent hostel is simply nostalgia. The hostel building itself and the interior is amazing. Located at the hill top also gives you a great view of the city. Overall it was a good experience.

I had a great stay at the Independente! My 6-bed dorm overlooked the Miradouro de S. Pedro de Alcântara and also had a view of the Castelo de S. Jorge. The breakfast was pretty basic but there was an option to add additional sides for a minimal cost. The on-site bar had a great happy hour and seemed to be a popular spot for Independente guests and people who peeked in from the street. I second the comment about the place looking like a Wes Anderson set. My only complaint is the noise at night.

Such an amazing hostel. A great atmosphere! A lovely restaurant inside the hostel with great happy hour prices! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would definitely come back and recommend to anyone!

Great location friendly staff,clean facilities.

Best place to stay in Lisbon. Looks like something out of a Wes Anderson movie.
