Judy's House was a blast. Good location not far from Negril center and the beach, but still up in the hills so you're surrounded by nature. Great beds and mosquito nets and fans are standards which was great. Mini bar fridge accessible 24/7 at reception if you need a cold beer during the night :). Great outdoor common areas and wifi always accessible. Sue the owner participates and is so cool. She will give you great tips and make you feel at home at all times. Recommend this place big time!!!
When I first came there, this place looked quite far from the beach and from the town center. But then I realized that the town is very small, so this distance isn't a problem - just 10 minutes walk. And the place itself is a real classic hostel, with great atmosphere, fast internet, and all other facilities that you can imagine. Not so many islands of the Caribbean have real hostels, so don't miss this one.
Judy's house turned out to be just as it was on the website. Great backpacker atmosphere and the staff and Sue are very friendly and helpful. :)
Absolutely amazing hostel. Like home away from home... Sue was an excellent host, always providing good info about everything around the area, hostel was always clean and pretty close to the beach and restaurants (all in a walkable distance)... I wouldn't hesitate a second to stay there again!!
Sue is the absolute best! She made the transition very easy, and her tips were great. This place is a little in town, but if you don't mind a 10 minute walk to get an easily accessible taxi to the beach, you'll be great. So for the price it's great! If you're not much of a camper or if you're looking for luxury...then this place is not for you. But if you love traveling for the country and just need a safe place to sleep for the night, then this is the place to be. Enjoyed myself.
I think that there are better located value for your money hostels around. The rooms were made from metal walls and so when it was hot the metal would absorb the heat and the room became unbearably hot. Sue did not care to remember my name and we disagreed over how many fans I needed for that hot a** room, but her other staff Marcia and Ms. Hacyinth were wonderful! I wouldn't stay there again, but if you don't mind the distance, rooms and price go for it!
Susie was awesome. She will look after you. She will help you with anything from trips to the best place to go out. Things were cheap at the shop that she had provided. The only problems was that the single rooms are small and not properly ventilated. In the morning it got really hot in the rooms, and at night it was cold. Also it became really noise due to thousands of crickets that reside in the area.
Great staff. The owner is very friendly and helpful. She organized a great trip to a waterfall.
