The Lily Pad was a really nice hostel. The rooms were clean and comfortabl and the staff were very helpful. Also, it situated across the road from the West Gate of Dali Old Town.
Everything is very good except the location is a little further away (10 min walk) from central ancient town, compare to other inn is within 5 min walk
Excellent staff, very friendly and helpful. The rooms were spacious enough and had a lot of storage space. Bathrooms were pretty much clean, with western toilets. Very strategic location, right across the Old Town and only about half an hour walk to the start of the hike up Cangshan. Very satisfied and highly recommended.

We found dirty sheets and they changed fastly , no light in the bathroom and there a dropping from the roof
I want to preface this review by stating that my partner and I are not picky when it comes to hostels. We stayed in a total 8 different hostels and definitely "roughed" it through Southwest Asia. The Lily Pad was our least favorite hostel during the trip. Although the staff was very nice, helpful, and helped us arranged travel, we found the bathroom is be very unclean (with a consistent ring of water around the toilet and a floor that hadn't been mopped in awhile) and the room to be musty.
Nice hostel with nice atmosphere. It's just outside the old town, so perfect to walk around and rest during the night. They have a rabbit pet! The staff in very friendly and ready to help but a little bit slow. But we are on holidays, so no rush!
