really lovely hostel with a lovely group of staff there to help out - they seem to change regularly tho so might explain problems people had in the past. nice locatoin just outside the old town, with a veranda i think would be good in the summer (not in jan tho >.

staying at the lilypad was a very relaxing and warm experience, Erin was very personable and welcoming, as a solo traveler in a quiet time this was important. Great value for money would recommend highly and defiantly stay again if i come back to Dali.

Really enthusiasts young owners give their best to make your stay comfortable. No wonder there are several white boards full of positive comments from other travelers. Costwise this is the lowest I paid for a room in Yunnan as they have single bed room and one person rate is what u pay for the room if u get that. They do common area with DVD player and collection. What more; I even got a goodluck gift while checking out.

The rooms are very spacious and very clean. If you don't mind showering with cold water sometimes then it's surely your place to stay in Dali.

I don't have a single negative thing to stay about this hostel. It is excellent!

I have not a single complaint about my stay at Lily Pad. Everything, and I mean EVERYTHING, was perfect. From the very friendly and helpful staff to the cleanliness of the rooms and the overall character of the hostel, Lily Pad is what every hostel should strive to be. Do yourself and your traveling companions a huge favor and stay at Lily Pad.

From the moment we arrived at Lily Pad Gust House, Erin, the Manager was the perfect hostess - helpful in every way, gentle, kind and considerate. Erin and her assistants Laura and Susie made our 3 day stay at Lily Pad a wonderful time, feeling as though we were as part of the family. Our room was big, clean and had every convenience, breakfast delicious and the location just outside he West Gate of Dali Old Town, quiet and convenient. We give Erin and Lily Pad full marks and we thank them.
