We stayed in a double ensuite room C on the roof, with a mountain view for only 80 yuan, and everything was excellent. The staff speaks good English and is very helpful. They helped us book tickets to Lijiang and were kind enough to return the money when we cancelled. Thank you!
I arrived the hostel very late at midnight and couldn't really find a way. I called them and one of the staff just came out for picking me up with a bit of worry and it was a very relief. Also they upgraded my dorm to the private twin room for some reasons, which was fantastic. Good English speaking staff is there who is willing to help you out in time. Not for partiers, it is just a very quiet place with no music. You can have a good time at the dinner table with other travellers, though.
Generally the staffs are kind & helpfull, especially the lady name TingTIng is very patient, helpfull & cheerfull .
Extremly nice and helpful staff.

An awesome hostel with amazing staff. Great location, (below the mountain in the old town), very nice courtyard and rooms, very clean and nice toilet, very nice people and very good cook as I tried very nice and typical chinese food. I absolutely raccomand this hostel.
The staffs of this guesthouse is very friendly. I took a private twin bed room for RMB70 (bathroom ensuite)!!! This is so value for money. The room was beautifully decorated with Chinese traditional furniture, bright & the bathroom was equipped with towel, bath gel & shampoo (considered as luxury in youth hostel). I also enjoyed the lunch, whereby I paid RMB15 to join the staffs for their lunch/dinner. The staffs helped me with express bus arrangement to Lijiang. Great place!
Wonderful place to stay in Dali, hostel had now 3 yards and i had lucky to stay in new South yard with rooms what decorate in old chinese style with real old furniture. I enjoy to stay night in Lily Pad, good quiet location near old city, tasty chinese food what i had change to taste with Lily family diner, amazing friendly and helpful stuff, they always smile and ready to help traveler. On my way back i no need to search new place for stay in Dali, definitely its Lily Pad hostel.
Good value for money! The deluxe double room was clean and with plenty of space for our luggage. It's on 3rd floor - no lift - with a terrace with great views to the Cangshan mountains and the old city. The western breakfast was very decent and affordable. The inn is 10 minutes walk to the West Gate which is a very good location. The staff is amazing! They are helpful, very kind, resourceful. They went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. We would definitely come back.
I love this hostel. If you stay here, ask to be placed in the Southern (I think?) yard - it has the prettiest furniture I've ever seen and the beds are very comfortable (not too hard, not too soft). The dorms are tastefully designed and decorated. I got to sneak a peak into one of the private rooms and that, too, was lovely, though I still prefer the dorms. The staff are very friendly and helpful and fun. This place is just great!
This was a wonderful place! Excellent location! The staff was very helpful and knowledgeable about the area and how to travel to all of the tourist attractions and local areas! A slightly quieter, more relaxing feel than other hostels in the area.

One of my favorite places to stay in Dali. Clean, quiet. Both the private rooms and dorms are beautiful. Plus, a great value for you money.
the hostel is divided in 3 courtyards: mine had a little door to go in and out in the evening that was hard to open, and I didn't like that there are no locks for the rooms, so during the day anyone could come in and go in the room. There were locks under my bed where I could store everything, but still not very safe. The atmosphere was not great as the common area is small, staff was helpful and very quick with my laundry. My Chinese old-style dorm room was the highlight of the hostel.
An all-round decent hostel. It's in a good location for exploring the old city and well-priced too.
I really liked it that my room got upgraded because theyre were vacancies. The setting of the room was really nice and it was really quiet. With such a good service, I almost felt like I was in a hotel! I think in the directions given to get to the hotel, you should mention them in relations to Renmin Lu, because I did hesitate a little to find the place as nobody on the way could confirm if I was on the right way. The fresh orange juice was really refreshing!
