This hostel was excellent. When you arrive they sit you down with a map of the city & go through it with you...what to see, where to eat, which ruin pubs to visit etc. Hostel is secure with door codes to enter plus big lockers. 5 min walk from the metro & 20 min walk from walking tours & ruin pubs. Near the bridge too to cross over to the Pest side. Only bad thing is it gets really hot and hard to sleep sometimes. This is a chilled hostel, so go elsewhere if you want a party hostel.

This is a great little hostel if you are looking for a place close to everything but don't want to be at a crazy party hostel. The staff is great and sits you down to explain the best places to eat, drink, and explore around the city. They also provide several maps that help getting around. The rooms were clean and the facilities were good.

Cool place for solo travelers, most of the people here want to socialise. Feels like home.

If you are travelling alone or in a small group this place has the perfect atmosphere to meet new people. Within an hour of walking in I felt at home and was drinking beer/playing cards with the others. This is a hostel for people that are up for going out to the ruin bars etc but also don't mind spending an evening in socialising and sitting around playing guitar. The staff are also incredibly helpful with giving advice on the places to go and more importantly, avoid.

This place is perfect. You feel like family straight away, the atmosphere is wonderful, the location is superb, and the staff deserve 6 out of 5. I can't recommend it highly enough. Thank you everyone for making my stay so pleasant, I miss it already :)

Excellent hostel. Place feels like home, but I think it's because it actually is an apartment converted to be a hostel. The vibe is laid-back and chill. It's definitely not a party hostel BUT you can make it to be if you meet the like-minded fellow travelers and are into that stuff. The common area is probably one of the favorites during all my travels. It facilitates an intimate vibe where it's not too big and not too small so it makes it easy to mingle.

Loft Hostel is amazing! Great location, very close to Central Market Hall and only a few minutes walk to any part of downtown. The rooms and bathrooms are clean, and the atmosphere is awesome, but the BEST part of Loft is the staff! Such amazing, wonderful, helpful people, always happy to give you tips on where to go or join you for dinner. I'd recommend Loft Hostel for anyone looking for a friendly, relaxed atmosphere and great people!

Great location, great price. Kind of annoying being on the 4th floor- bit of a trek to get out to the street. Really nice friendly atmosphere

The loft was a really lovely place to stay and everyone there was very welcoming and friendly. Especially nice was the personal introduction to Budapest by the host and helpful pointers on where to go and what to see!

Great small hostel- very cool vibe and so easy to meet people. Would 100% recommend to a friend. Best introduction and best map of the area in any hostel I've been to! One note for the staff- please don't clean the bathrooms at peak hour (9am) had one morning with a really long shower queue!

Best hostel in the world! The layout makes it feel more like a home than a hotel. Would highly recommend it as a solo traveller!

THIS is the hostel to be at. My welcome to the hostel was personal and SO informative, the feel of the loft is like home, the staff are so friendly and helpful and the location is IDEAL. There's even a free food basket and free clothing basket from things other people left which I thought was a great idea. As an avid traveler, I can tell you this was great! Hey staff! If you're ever in Barcelona, let me know! (Jade)

The Loft Hostel is a great place to stay at if you're visiting Budapest. Good location and great building. The staff is really nice and willing to go the extra mile for your needs, and they will give you their personalised map when you arrive, with great tips about the city. There is a great "feel at home" atmosphere - even during a big 24h power breakdown throughout the neighborhood like I experienced!

I really liked this hostel overall. The staff is super helpful and willing to give recommendations about the city. I didn't find the atmosphere to be that social, but I think that might have just been a factor of when I was there (during Sziget). The hostel is very cozy.
