Property Information:
The Lounge is the best hostel in Thailand for meeting people and making friends. Owned by recent University graduates who love to travel, The Lounge delivers the true backpacking experience you set out for. With it's friendly staff who speak English, The Lounge also provides the opportunity to learn about Thai culture and gain deeper knowledge of Thai traditions and customs.
The Lounge also boasts the best selection of tailor-made backpackers'
tours on the island. With a personal taxidriver and motorbikerental on-site navigating the whole island is easily done!
From our personal experience both traveling and living on Samui, our beach (Bang Rak beach) has the island's best sand and is good for truly relaxing. Couple this with a calm ocean, plenty of bars and restaurants, our beach is the perfect place to relax and/or play games without interuption.
Our local area also boasts a variety amazing restaruants, with a wide selection of Western, Thai and Island cuisine. The prices of food in the local area range between 50 – 130 Baht. The Fisherman's village is also a cool hang out if you are looking for a quieter, more civilised evening. Chaweng beach however is only a 10 minute taxi ride away, with return journeys from our personal taxi driver, bookable at reception.
We are the closest Hostel to the pier that everyone needs to go to if they are going to Koh Phan Gnan from Koh Samui. Big Buddha pier is within 10 minutes walking distance and leaves four times a day, so if your just passing through, then a stay with us is in the ideal spot.
We are also the closest hostel to the Koh Samui airport. The airport is only a 15 minute car ride away, so we are perfect for a night before lay-over.
Being backpackers ourselves we understand the importance of a good bed and warm shower. Thats why all our dorm beds are slightly bigger than the standard size just to give our guests that good nights sleep they want. All our Dorms and Private Rooms also have Air-Con and an en-suite toilet with free use of hairdryers and straighteners.
The Office opening times for The Lounge are 6am-11pm. If you are arriving after 11pm please let the team here know.

Latest Review
This is a great hostel on an Island dominated by resorts. With nice spacey dorm rooms some with curtains for your bunk, and ensuite it's very well equipped. The open common area has a big TV and western and local channels great for the odd rainy day in paradise. Though its not close to the main chaweng beach, it's very close to a quiter beach bang rak, which does the same job. So nice local bars and good restaurants. The staff are incredibly helpful friendly and accommodating.

Cancellation Policy
This property has a 1 day cancellation policy.Failure to cancel within this time will result in a cancellation charge equal to the first night of your stay.
Things to Note
Please note the following: Our cancellation policy is 24 hours prior to check in on your booked arrival day. A failure to cancel your reservation in advance of this will mean the credit card used to secure the reservation will be charged for your first nights stay in your absence. You will be asked to pay a key security deposit of THB 250 when you arrive at the hostel. This amount will be refunded to you when you check out in exchange for the returned key.
