The Mad Monkey is a great place to stay and the staff is the best around. It's a bit far from the river, bus station, and airport, but it has a good vibe and if you prefer to stay off the main drap, this is perfect.

Has to be one of, if not the best hostel I have stayed in! The staff and guys who run it are awesome! Everything from the amazing smelling sheets to the chips and gravy in the resturant! You cant fault this hostel. I LOVE MAD MONKEY! and will return for sure!

My stay at the Mad Monkey was great! The staff is very knowledgable, super friendly and go out of their way to make sure you are comfortable and find the places around town you are looking for. The facilities are quite nice and the food is good. It's a bit off the river front, but an easy tuktuk ride away. Try to snag a bottom bunk, it just makes everything a bit easier.

Great all around hostel. MM menu is great (lots of food & drink options). Room was good (not cleaned during stay) & upstairs patio is lovely (open air & large screen tv). Staff are enthusiatic and friendly and MM has a work-to-learn ethos but some of the staff speak better English than others. They got our breakfast and drinks order completely wrong and then gave it to another couple when we were in a hurry. But they were apologetic and gave us a free coffee. One of our favourite hostels so far.

We only stayed here one night, but really enjoyed it! The staff went above and beyond to be helpful and friendly. The hostel has a great vibe to it, and is only a short tuk tuk ride away from anywhere you want to go. The rooms are minimalistic, but since the hostel is set up to encourage interaction among guests, it allows you to enjoy the great common rooms. We would definitely stay here again!

The Mad Monkey was great! Very professional with friendly staff, an inviting environment and clean bedding. I was very impressed by how helpful and genuinely friendly the staff all were. No wonder they had won the best staff award beforehand. The location is a little far from the general tourist areas but there's always a tuktuk near by to bring you there.

Great place to stay - good value for money when it comes to sleeping facilities, but the western food they serve is slightly more pricy than the local food (naturally). The staff are friendly, and the hostel has great connections to tours, tuk-tuks and bus services. Stayed 2 days - totally worth it!

Great fun atmosphere with lovely staff. Very helpful in arranging visas and day-trips. Food was the best we experienced in South East Asia! Only thing I would add would be big lockers for the dorms to put your rucksacks in, as we had to just leave them on the floor. Overall, a great stay and a good place to meet other travellers.

nice hostel, value for money room-wise. loved the rooms! we booked a twin room and it was very spacious! the toliets are also very clean. however, like other reviewers said, if you're on a budget you probably wouldn't eat at their restaurant - the food is really good and portions are huge though. unfortunately the lounge/bar area was closed when we went so we didn't get to experience it. their staff are generally helpful and nice. definitely need to tuktuk everywhere.

We had a great stay at Mad Monkey. Staff was really helpful as we had troubles with our transportation. The room was fresh and very clean. Food and cocktails were just delicious. We will definitely go back there if we go back to Phnom Penh.

Great place to stay either for couples singles or groups. The owners work hard to include underprivileged locals on the staff. Definitely recommend it.

The Mad Monkey was a good place to stay. It is in a safe area. However, a bit pricey compared to the surrounding guesthouses. The food is great, but pricey as well. It would be nice to have more local Khmer food on their menu. Staff is friendly and the room is clean. I love the upstair lounge!

I had a great time at mad monkeys. Good food, great staff and very nice lounge on the rooftop. Some issues with the bathroom: One was clogged and the other could not lock, but nothing that can't be fixed.
