Nice bar and restaurant, pub crawls and other activities arranged. Good wifi. Lovely staff. Got my Vietnam visa in 24h here. Spacious, clean dorm with big lockers. Could feel every spring in my mattress, very uncomfortable! Not the place for a peacuful night's sleep as constantly drunk people coming in and out of the room making a lot of noise.
Very bad smell in our room and poor location. We stayed in the Mad Monkey in Kampot and it was amazing! Expected the same from this hostel but left very disappointed

Stayed in the room next to the rooftop bar, best excuse to join the party every night ;) It closes at 11.30 so no need to worry about not getting enough sleep. Really enjoyed my stay here, so easy to meet people so definitely a good place to stay when you travel alone!
Great hostel. We stayed in the 10 bed dorm but it was split by walls so felt like a 4 bed. Good bar too. Food was slightly pricey but yummy. Would recommend.
No keys to rooms so anyone can walk around and wifi does not work in rooms. Beds were very hard and there is only one toilet/shower for every 8-10 person dorm. Aside from that the staff was excellent as was the restaurant/bar.
This hostel had a really good vibe, but I wouldn't stay here again. Instead I would stay somewhere cheaper and just go here for drinks by the pool.
Good staff and Great environment. Very Social. It feels good to stay on a socially responsible hostel. Plus, it is such a great place to meet people and have a drink with them especially at the rooftop bar! Highly Recommended and Will definitely comeback if I'm in Phnom Penh

Over priced for what it is. Restaurant did amazing food though
Great hostel, had an amazing time here. Restaurant is really good, not to expensive. Rooftopbar is awesome, also the pubcrawl. Matrasses where not great, after a few nights my back was really hurting. Would go back here!
Staff are amazing, great menu, can highly recommend the mac and cheese! Air conditioned rooms, very comfortable and affordable.
Would recommend to stay at mad monkey if spending time in phnom penh. The best part of the hostel is the rooftop bar which is a nice place to meet other travellers. The bar closes at 11:30pm so don't be put off by this if wanting a more relaxed stay. The restaurant offers a good selection of Western and Khmer dishes which are more expensive when compared to other restaurants in the city. The only drawback for me was the location which is not central meaning a 30mins walk or tuk tuk into town
Had a great time, staff were very friendly and helpful, good social bar upstairs and close to lots to do in city centre
Was very disappointed with Mad Monkey PP as it had been hyped up for us along the way by other travellers. The room stunk due to a sewerage problem coming from the bathroom with was very unclean. Apart from that everything else was ok.
Decent hostel, good atmosphere, able to sort further travel out easily
Good for a party but not to relax or feel comfortable!
The staff was extremely busy at all times it seemed. Very busy hostel. It was strange that the hostel is actually 2 buildings. I liked that the restaurant was good. Good food and drinks. The room was ok. We stayed above the bar which was quite loud. Seems like a party hostel which is good if that's what you're looking for.
Receptionist who wears green glasses is thick and so slow!!!!Me and my friends got annoyed with her attitude! However, hostel itself was not bad! Partying all night... No way to get sleep before midnight! Early morning wake up call because of the renavation of the building! Really loud and start after 7am! Room was ok. It's not close to main attractions but nice and posh street and feel safe !
Mad Monkey seems to be a Cambodian institution. It's massive, well-run, and a great place for backpackers. Free drink ticket on arrival and rooftop bar make this an awesome place to socialize with other travelers. Our private room was huge, but it would've been nice if there was a place to store our valuables.
The hostel is very sociable and more suited to singles with a popular bar and something going on each night organised. It's not in the best location to see phnom penh, explore the riverside etc. You are reliant on tuk tuks for most things. breakfast was decent but expensive for cambodia. Our biggest disapointment was we enquired about a tour twice in advance to be told come back tomorrow to book it. When we did it was sold out so we missed out because the staff couldn't be bothered to call. Poor
