On one hand, MM was in a very nice neighborhood and had a good bar upstairs. However, we had a room with thin walls under the bar and next to the kitchen, which made sleep impossible- we heard drunk partiers yelling until past 1 AM, and then the kitchen staff moving furniture at 6 AM.We have stayed at party hostels before, but never this loud. The front desk staff spoke very limited English, which made even basic requests difficult (e.g., asking where the bus station was). Would not return.

Loved it here. Bed was a little uncomfortable but the rooms are great, people are cool, and the rooftop bar is excellent.

Great dorms, with nice comfy beds, em suite bathrooms that are clean. Only bad thing is the restaurant downstairs really pricy for Asia and for backpackers! Also the rooftop bars is on top of all the dorms and the walls, ceilings so thin so you hear everything!! I couldn't sleep at all and just kept hearing screeches of chairs. That was the habitat dorm. Met great people though :)

Although we met lovely people in the hostel and enjoyed the whole partying atmosphere the experience was ruined by the shocking prices. It has a very commercial feel where they just tried to bleed you dry and they were by far the worst prices we have seen in two months traveling! The area it is in makes matters worse as the whole place seems designed to rip backpackers off!! Didn't stay in the one in Siem Reap after and wouldn't recommend!

Only stayed here for one night but would definitely return if needs be. Great bar and facilities, there is no pool which is slightly disappointing but is still great without. The atmosphere is very sociable and there are a lot of other backpackers to meet.

Really enjoyed our stay! Made it easy with tuktuk driver waiting outside. No 9 drove us around for a few days and he was great! Loved the events on at the hostel every night.

Dorm always smelled of bad plumbing and door was ALWAYS unlocked. Staff seemed annoyed when we asked questions and didn't offer helpful info unless we pried for it. They also seemed to slack off a lot. Two cleaning ladies hid in my dorm on an empty bed for over an hour talking and playing on their phones and watching me get ready, it was very uncomfortable. Servers at restaurant are a bit nicer but service was slow and they were always distracted. Bar crawl on Thursday is fun.

super helpful staff. cameras but no tag system for luggage so it would be easy for someone to grab it- so if you have valuables just give to the reception desk and they have a safe box. Food is good but water and drinks are cheaper at the 24/hr shop next to reception- the shop has everything from protein powder to quesadillas for a late night drunk snack. Wifi is pretty good, beds are ok &AC is solid. Rooftop bar open ti mid night. Sociable but private rooms are great too.

All around fantastic. The location is great, the bar and restaurant are great, the room was great, on and on and on. It's true that if your room is close to the bar, you can hear the noise, but I never found it problematic. The staff was super helpful. They even exchanged some currency for me when the exchanges were closed.

This chain (only stayed in the PP one) is exactly that. The place was clean and organised but the noise was atrocious. Also the amount of smoking in and around the hostel just was for us hard to deal with. Would not stay there again

Mad monkey in phnom penh is a fun party hostel! If you choose for this hostel expect to have at least a few drinks every night because it's about that. For while it lasted I had a great stay over there and even though I'm not the biggest partyer. The dorms are very clean and big. The staff is helpfull and always trying to get you in the mood! Read complaints about the loud music in the bar every night but that stops exactly at midnight, wich was more than ok for me! Mad monkey keep on rocking!

We had a room without any windows. Although, you are just looking for a room to put your head down at, so not much time is spent in the room. Happening upstairs bar. Good place for younger people!

No complaints at all. Super clean, comfortable rooms with huge beds. Good bar for socialising. Really friendly and helpful staff.

Couldn't provide a map for the area. Very sociable. Fairly clean. Very very loud, not much sleep!

great staff, very successful one-stop backpacker business which leads to often beehive like atmosphere; no free coffee/tea like in other good hostels (sic!), the very good but not inexpensive restaurant is very popular nonetheless, today´s backpackers obviously can afford such a place which fits well into upmarket Boeng Keng Kang I; excellent keg parties in the rooftop bar & lounge (free flow of draft beer for one hour) several times per week, also BBQ.

Great staff, very accomodating and helpful. Food was a bit pricey for the quality

Great hostel. Although a bit of a corporate feel, Mad Monkey has really nailed the whole hostel concept. Very clean rooms and beds, plenty of toilets and showers throughout the entire facility. Food at restaurant was actually very good although a bit on the expensive side. I did not book any tours through this hostel but it seemed as though booking anything would have been very easy through their well staffed reception area. Upstairs bar was cool if you're into partying.

Spacious private room which was great but the bed wasn't great (pretty springy). Air conditioning was wonderful. Staff were nice and the atmosphere was great. Would go back for sure.

The best mad monkey hostel I've stayed at! The staff were amazing, so nice and consistent throughout my time there! The bathrooms were cleaned every day and the beds were pretty comfortable. The only issue was the constitutions taking place started really early but this isn't the hostel fault but just be prepared for this. Other than that a I thoroughly enjoyed my time here!

Very much for the Backpacker but with the added twist of good private rooms for couples and so forth. At Pnomh Penh it's a split site with main reception and accomodation one side of the road and restaurant accomodation and bar on the other side of the road.Food in the restaurant bar was good although the menu was heavily biased towards western dishes. Nightly games in the upper bar catering to those who wanted to drink lots of beer and shots.Well organised supply of tuk-tuks. A well run place
