Great place to stay. Great atmosphere with great people.
Staff was great! Bed was huge! I really enjoyed my stay!
Very good hostel and the place to go for any backpacker in Phnom Penh. The Mad Monkey branch in Siem Reap is even better though!
Good hostel to stay in, particularly if you're travelling alone. Great bar.
Great place if you are a traveller looking to party as the hostel always has something going on and the location is good. The hostel also organises tuk tuks for trips and the drivers are great fun! However the staff could be more helpful as most of the time they weren't that interested in answering questions.
My friend had her bag robbed walking from the ATM to hostel (about 20m) despite there being lots of security around Hostel was clean and great fun otherwise, 20bed room is split up into sections which is really good
This is a quaint little respite from the business of Phnom Penh. The food in the restaurant is delicious and the bars have an inviting atmosphere. If you are looking for fun times, good food, and a chance to meet other travelers then stay here.
Would absolutely recommend this to anyone! Awesome hostel, good sized rooms and a lot of fun! Also the food in the restaurant is delicious, and the pub crawl they organize is a lot of fun!
pretty good hostel , nice place to meet cool people and good bar, can get really warm at the bar especially when they close the curtains. the mad monkey at siem reap is way better
We stayed 2 nights at the mad monkey and enjoyed our stay very much! The staff is great and very helpful and the bar and restaurant was pefect! Don't think twice and stay there during your phnom penh trip.
This isa typical big hostel I have complaints and would stay here again. The food they serve is good but a bit pricy compared with the rest of the country.
We had a really enjoyable time staying at the Mad Monkey. The atmosphere at the hostel was one of the best we've seen, and the staff were helpful. The location is okay but it is in the opposite end of the city from where the bar strip is, which is where most of the action is. Apart from that, a really good hostel!
Place is great, very clean, the bar is good and the restaurant amazing, the rooftop bar is a very nice place to have a drink, the beds are big! The location is good too, you can easily walk all the places in town. Mad Monkey is the place to stay in Phnom Penh for a lonely traveller.
Great Bar up top and Restaurant at the bottom, awesome prices! Clean private room. The location wasn't so convenient, but tuk tuks are everywhere so that's good. On the other hand, the neighborhood it was located in, was very safe, nice and clean. There is a small lively street nearby to grab a bite or a drink.
Rooms were clean on arrival. The hostel operates and excellent restaurant. All the tuk tuk drivers knew where the hostel was which was convenient.
The Hostel was fine and clean. The only thing is about the "fair" prices about transportation which might be only fair for them.
Great atmosphere, helpful staff and good food. Highly recommended.

this is quite possibly the nicest hostel i have ever stayed at. LARGE soft beds with air con. great bar on the top floor. had an accident at 10:30pm, and the security man in charge took me to his doctor brother to get looked at, only cost $10. very grateful for that. location is a short tuk tuk from most things. good but not fantastic.
Reception is pretty chaotic and not structured at all they speak not that good english. I asked two times for a second blanket (catched a cold and I was a bit freezing) and nothing happend. Rest ist fine. Good possibilities to meet other travellers.
