Globally, this is a very good hostel: very friendly staff and atmosphere and everything for the everyday tasks (fully furnished kitchen, washing machines and driers, big fridges). Met some very nice peope there. Just 2 negatives things: some cockroaches (in our room and in the corridors) and no hot water in the bathrooms during more than 1 week.

Great location and great price. This place had the cheapest single room I could find in Sydney. The bathrooms were kept very clean. The only problem with cleanliness was the sticky carpets in the room (which can be overcome by wearing slippers) and the linen, including the pillowcase, that still had washing detergent on them. You'll be left with a foul taste in your mouth in the morning. I guess that could be overcome by putting a towel on your pillow.

We needed a room for a night and I choose this hostel because it was the cheapest. In our twin room there were: the bunk bed, a mirror and the fan. No air con. The room was clean but a little bit smelly. Common bathroom was ok. We didn't use the kitchen but it seems nice and clean. None of the 3 guys at the reception made me a smile.

Firstly, Hygiene! we booked into a private twin share (for three weeks), and not once did hostel staff come into our room to change our sheets, or empty our bin. There was one occasion when a man entered our room whilst we where sleeping, didn't knock before coming in, climbed out of our window, and then back in a few seconds later, and then left without a word of apology or explanation. The showers had no hot water for days on end, and the whole hostel was filthy. Nice attempt at free food.

Stayed one night in a 2 bed dorm and promptly booked myself out the next night because: 1) Dead cockroach on the floor next to bed. 2) Tiny fan to keep us both cool in seering 43 degree C heat. 3) Toilets were not cleaned regularly and did not have hand wash (no body remembers to take with them body wash to wash their hands after going to the toilet). All in all, you get what you pay for, I think most at this price would be the same but if you shop around you could find better.

The stay was wonderful! I was really impressed by the cleanliness of the place. My only complaint was that we stayed in a room near the street, and the cars were very noisy (but there isn't much the hostel could do about that).

There are serveral different numbers for colours, for example blue 13,red13 , yellow 13 etc. on arrival we were told to make sure we go to the right colour because the same key opens up all the same colour 13s - hardly ideal. The is a big chalk bored up detailing what nights would have free food, BBQ one night, pancakes the other. The problem is that it was never right. On 3 or 4 occasions we walked into the kitchen and food was being served on different times to the board. I don't have enough
