The staff that were on, on Saturday night were excellent, except that because I had made the booking through hostel world, when my roommates turned up their system wiped my name off the booking. They couldn't find my booking and therefore I ended up having to stay the night elsewhere, until I met up with my friends the following day.

Really loud, really dirty/shabby , seemed to be full of people who were staying long term and people who just wanted to drink all day and night. not my idea of a good place to stay but i am sure others would disagree. only had 2 good points - its cheap and has a good location

Having been an experienced traveller have to say Maze has the best priced single room in Sydney. Good clean basic room.

Pretty much what to expect from a backpacker in Australia. Not very clean but ok overall. Very busy. Arrived on Sunday at 8am after my 30hours trip from europe to hear that I couldn't check in before 2pm, that was a huge disgrace. I was here for work, my first days in Sydney before I can find a more stable place to live, so didn't try to socialise with anyone. Had to hear crazy youngsters drunk as hell going crazy til 3:30 AM but I think they got fired (they even damaged something). but it's ok

Booked this hostel for its location and price and just crossed my fingers it wouldn't be too noisy ( Im a light sleeper). Because we expected nothing, we didn't get let down. You get what you pay for - it smells bad in the staircase, the rooms are very dull and its inefficiently soundproofed - but most of the partying is taking place elsewhere so I slept pretty well. Actually the worst part was that it says that you can borrow towels, but they we're out so we couldn't take a shower!!
