Fantastic location and staff were very friendly, stayed in double room ensuite, room lacked the finish you would expect when you are paying €60 per night for the room. No bed side lockers, wardrobe or indeed anywhere to leave stuff down. Quality of workmanship questionable. Bed was comfy, shower was excellent, and the room was clean, so perfect if looking for room and a roof only reason not to be happy is the price for this bed and roof.

Very simple room, not really good value for money, however a great location and friendly staff. I would recommend it for a stay of one night

Think twice about booking here; - Shower ice cold. - We couldn't sleep as they had the radiators CRANKED, & the bed was right beside the radiator. Radiators cannot be turned on/off or adjusted. - No Wi-Fi in room as advertised. I politely brought my concerns to the lady at reception, who told me we were just "unlucky". Zero customer service. She became subtley patronising, lied, and almost tried to make me feel guilty for complaints. The male staff were much more friendly & helpful.

This accommodation was absolutely revolting. Myself and my partner stayed in a double room on a Saturday night, the room was minuscule there was simply a bed and a bin in the room. The room was disgustingly dirty. There was no radiator and we were unable to close the window as it was broken, we had to use a belt to keep it shut for the night. The duvets and pillows were extremely thin and light. The worst €50 I've ever spent.

The guy running the place was really nice. The pub downstairs was nice and though I didn't eat there, the food looked good. The wifi worked in my room, but barely. The shower was hot and strong. That said, I probably wouldn't stay here again, at least in a single room. Room was large but literally had only a bed. No shelf, no chair, nothing. So I had to put everything on the floor, which was not very clean. Trash had been left in the bin from prior guests. You can get a b&b single for cheaper.

Carten, the owner, was the nicest guy! We showed up and they were slower so he gave us a free upgrade to a private room for the two nights we spent there. He was super helpful with any questions we had, which was much appreciated. It was in a great location in the heart of town, everything in easy walking distance. One of our favorite places we stayed at on our trip!

I booked into one of the private ensuite rooms, the building is old and you can hear everything, people coming and going and loud music from the bar. they don't offer soap or shower gel and then I discovered that there was no hot water to take a shower. I also had some drunk trying to break my bedroom door down at 2am. Everything else was good, the staff are friendly, the bed was really comfortable, just a pity I couldn't get any sleep in it.

I think the staff try they,re best, but for some reason the things didn,t get done ( towels in the room were dirty and when we went for breakfast there was just one person in the morning doing everything (cleaning, preparing breakfast, getting other things done in the computer). Breakfast was supposed to start at 9,30 or 10, but it wasn,t ready and the service was bad (asking for more bread seemed to be annoying for the guy in charge at the moment). Some b&b,s are better for almost same price.

Too expensive for €55.00 for a private ensuite considering there was not even a chair or a hanger to hand your clothes etc. it would have been nice if we had hot water for a shower as we asked in the morning and evening and each time we were told we needed to wait 40 mins? No one would wait 40 mins to have a shower. Continental breakfast as far as my roommate (who is a chef) is most certainly not tea and 2 slices of toast. The pub staff was the only pleasant thing about our stay.

We spent one night at the Metropole hostel. Room was warm, very good bed, and the staff was very nice. We could hear people talking in the other rooms as it is an old building, and the bathroom was no perfectly clean.

Such a lovely little hostel! Rooms were great for the price, not too cramped. Ensuite was really nice to have. Staff were FANTASTIC - incredibly accommodating and helpful! The pub below had great food at very reasonable prices. Location was also perfect - right in the middle of everything. Will definitely be back!!

We stayed in the off-season so the hostel was very quiet but it gave us a chance to talk to the owner who has recently purchased the hostel. He seems to be taking a lot of pride in the hostel and is sparing no expense in getting new beds and the bathrooms up to date. He was extremely friendly and the bar on the main floor was a good place to start your night. There is no kitchen which was our only issue with the hostel. A few mini fridges in the rooms would be welcome for backpackers.
