On the pictures hostel looks very modern and nice. But it looks big and empty. It has no atmosphere and breakfast is almost no breakfast. For every additional facilities you want (i.e. hairdryer) you have to pay additionally. It's more like a cheap hotel that a youth hostel (reception stuff wear suits even). The good thing I can tell about helpful and nice stuff and hostel location.

The Monastery Hostel in Milan is in a great location. The rooms are nice, however our shower did not drain. There was no maps so we went out and purchased one. The morning staff was not very friendly or helpful on answering simple "What to do" questions. As for the breakfast... Stale bread.

Not too bad,not too good.It could be more clean, especially the floor and the bed. I found too many hairs in the pillow and the ceiling on the bathroom had a hole. Also, one of the windows hadn't got a shutter and the morning sun was awful.Plus, poor breakfast- very poor. The location was good, about 10-15 minutes walk to duomo, the view from the room in a garden was also wonderful and the hostel mates were very quiet. I would recommend this hostel although it is expensive for what it offers.

Upon checking in, we were welcomed by a cockroach crawling out from beneath the bed. The walls were paper thin; I'd get woken up by a group coming back at 2AM laughing and shouting in the corridor. They would linger for 20 minutes (talking and laughing loudly/knocking on each other's doors countless times) before heading back and this happened for the 3 nights I stayed there. The only redeeming factors were the friendly receptionist and plenty of hot water for bathing.

I only stayed here for one night, but I really liked it. The staff went out of their way to help me, even unplugged the freezer so I could use an adapter. The facility had a really neat theme to it, and the lockers were the size of my closet at home. It was a little tricky to find at first, there isn't really a big sign outside to point you in the right direction.

Everything's excellent, sure I'll stay again and recommend to my friends. It will be perfect for the hostel can put a sign on the wall of the entrance, as it's so easily to miss it.

Extremely kind and warm-hearted staff there. Spacy room and quiet. The only thing I would suggest is a sign at the front door and a reading light for each bed. I enjoyed staying there.
