The Monastery Hostel Milan Reviews

This a convenient and cheap youth hotel. You find there all you need for one night in Milano, before going to the beautiful lakes.

This hostel is NOT realy value for money.The only good thing is the almost good location(not so near as they say).The room was dirty and the breakfast was not breakfast but just a croissant(only if you found one the most of the times was just dissapear).I think it is realy expensive from what it gives you.

We took the 8 People Mixed dorm for one night and it was awesome. I would not ask more from a hostel, as I only expect a safe room, a safe location, and a good night sleep. We arrived at 11:30pm at night walking from Milano Central station and we didn't have any problem. I would recommend it to anyone interested in experiencing what a hostel is.

I hated staying there. The atmosphere was terrible, it smelt of fresh paint, it was dirty and unwelcoming.

Good hostel for the money, especially at Milan, an expensive city. The breakfast is the lowest point, almost non existant, but everything else is alright. Great location and friendly staff.

Pro: The staff was extremely friendly. The place was not too hard to find, and the location is good. The rooms and linen were clean. Felt safe leaving my things in the locker. Con: Breakfast finished quickly, which would have been a shame if I hadn't been an early riser. The bathroom needed a thorough clean, starting with the mould on the walls.

this is what you would expect from a hostel. No thrills or frills. It is clean. Yes breakfast is light but it's not because they're stingy it's because italian breakfasts are light. So first you should reming yourself that when in Rome....despite this being Milan. It's very close to the main "Metropolitana" subway and walking 20 minutes each way you can either reach central station or the Duomo. What else can you ask for?

the breakfast is extremely good here!! they bake their own croissant and with nice coffee!! but there is only one computer in the common area this hostel is quite difficult to find as it hiding in the industrial-alike building location is quite good as we just walk for 20 mins to city center

The staff is very friendly but once checked out, I could leave my luggage at the front desk. When retreiving it though, they did not check whether it was mine at all. Everyone could have taken it.

It was total disaster. The hostel let our luggaages lost and kept saying they are not responsible for lost luggage. Our luggages were in the luggage locker and the football team who also kept their luggages in the locker took everything in the locker including ours. We ask the hostel to give us any contact information but the hostel refused it due to privacy matter and the hostel still says that they are not RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS PROBLEM and doesn't reply email at all. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE

Staff was not really polite. The bathroom was a little dirty. Near the subway.

excellent hostel!! Breakfast is included. The staff there is very helpful and very funny. I booked a 4 bed female room but get a two bed ensuite room instead so it was very good. Clean and tidy! Strongly recommend this hostel to other travellers.

This is more like a hotel than a hostel!Love the theme and the decors around it..and they even have a cute little cow at the reception area for display! rooms and bathroom is clean and location is very clean and spacious. Its location is near the turati station, just a 5 min walks away :) Staff is nice too.!

The rooms are too cold. Increasing the heat would make it super awesome.

Pretty expensive, though I think that's just Milan. Breakfast was very minimal. Bathroom facilities were excellent, some staff really helpful and the lockers in the rooms were huge - a very welcome surprise. It was very conveniently placed and everything of interest in walking distance. Also very quiet which was great.

We went in the winter and froze during the night there was no functioning heating.. The bathroom was not very clean.. The breakfast was not good either. There were only two types of pastries and they weren't even good!

We arrived late at night. I was happy that it was so easy to find at night. we walked from stacione zentrale. Good location. Loved security lockers at rooms (charging option inside locker was nice surprise). private bathroom at each room was handy :) (we stayed at 4 bed dorm and later at 6 room dorm). i loved 2 story beds - better than to sleep very next to some other person.. breakfast was poor (cruisante + coffee) but it was ok.

The location is good once you know it, but really difficult to find the first time. Breakfast is simple but good

We didn't stay there, the reception is all nice but as soon as you get to the room you want to die. Its smell so bad, then I open the window and there was a pile of old cigarets so I closed the window and went to reception where the receptionist suggested it was us who smoked all them cigarette in the 1 minute we were in there!?!? The floor and toilets were just disgusting. Way to expensive for what it is. Typical Milan - poor product, very expensive and fake nice/rude service.
