Hostel was alright. Watch out for staying here in the summer as it is very hot and there is no air con or fans (except for the staff). If you get a drink from the bar it won't cold. The common area didn't quite work and it was irritating having to take your shoes off everytime. Nice and cheap to stay at and a good location, they even let us play 'the wonder years' and 'spineless yes men' even though the guy working there whinged cos it interupted the chutney he was blaring out!

My stay here was quite enjoyable. There is a large kitchen, bar and common area, so it's fairly easy to meet other travelers, but bear in mind that in the evening, the majority will be getting drunk and then people will be returning at all hours of the night. There was also a noisy night club right outside my dorm window. There was an issue with the lockers at the time, which compromised security but they said that they're improving them soon...

I had an amazing time in Monks! The people are really friendly and the pubcrawls are a lot of fun! Even though it is a party hostel, it is quick in the rooms during the night. The location is good, really close to the city centre (walking distance). The staff is very friendly. If you are looking for meeting people, partying and a relax atmosphere, Monks is definitely the place to go!

24 hour bar and staff were excellent. Used condom on the floor of our bedroom and the state of the toilets (urine and pubic hair) was not. It's a shame about the cleanliness as everything else was excellent.

Completely unpractical toilette service makes the stay arduous (just 3 bathrooms in the whole structure...).

What a great hostel. If you don;'t like drinking don't go here. Luckely I like drinking, and it was a great stay! Clean sheets, clean toilets, loads of facilities, pub crawls, party, and great fun! Thank you Rosie, Clara and all the rest for the great stay! Deflinetly would recomend you to go here!

Good location, comfortable room and beds (as in hostel). Nice staff and bar in lobby. Very safe. The biggest inconvinience was the obligation to pay deposit for keys and the closest surroundings wich was a gay club. ;/

I had an awesome time at Monks Bunk. The staff are sweet to hang out with and super relaxed, and the beer pong and pub crawls are great fun! So good I came back a second time!

Sucks that you have to take off your shoes in the chill/bar area because the floor is sticky from beer spills the night before. World Cup Championship stream was poor quality so we left and watched at Freedom Square, which actually was a good thing. Abundance of bathrooms and showers was a plus, plenty of parking lots nearby, good quality internet, drinks were cheap, and proximity for old town was perfect because we are far enough away for cheaper food/drinks, yet close enough to walk.

Staff in general were friendly, however they were more pre-occupied with getting drunk and looking after themselves then helping guests. Tours promoted through hostel were dodgy, no brochures, just a guy in his minivan and overpriced for what it was.

We enjoyed our stay at the Monk's Bunk despite the fact that we are not 'party' people, we were worried that the hostel maybe noisy but it really wasn't, the bar was on the floor above us so we couldn't really hear much so managed to sleep well. There is a lovely big kitchen that guests can use with a large dining table. Everywhere was clean and the people were friendly.

Well run, social and conveniently located hostel. An inclusive atmosphere meant that everyone socialised and the staff cooked a meal each evening for 2-3 euros, which you would pay more than double in town for. To relax or be entertained it was a great place.

Amazing hostel. Planned to stay three days but ended up staying for over a week. The only downside is that the atmosphere is so good that you never want to leave to sightsee!
