Great, clean hostel in Brookyln. Location was ok, it depends on where in Brooklyn you fancy being. Otherwise it's a great for a hostel.

The jacuzzi wasn't running and it was very expensive over the new year period. Otherwise a great place to stay. I would recommend it for any other time of year.

A great find! Very affordable and room was spacious with nice decor. Staff were very cheerful and helpful, and any queries I had were easily answered. Nice surprise that breakfast was included.

I guess the proof they could charge what they did over New Year's weekend is that I paid it. I still feel like I overpaid by about 3x.

Helpful staff but some if the girls were moody and had attitude. Wouldn't stay at this hostel again. Area is kind of dodgy and industrial but close to subway st.

Great connection to subway, overall good area. Breakfast is served too early (6-9am). Huge room, bathrooms okay, overall good stay, i would go there again!

Except housekeepers, staff not really friendly... Better area in Brooklyn and not too far to the center by subway. Kitchen, good breakfast and clean.

The hostel is clean and safe. I really enjoyed my stay at NY Loft Hostel. It's true that the hostek is not 10min from Manhattan but it's not that far. In 30 minutes you can arrive there and there is a subway line two blocks from the hostel.

I really enjoyed my time there. The location is great (about 20 mn from downtown) and the room was really nice. We had free breakfast with a lot of choices! If you are looking for a traditionnal youth hostel it's not really the spirit but it suited me. I met very nice people. All good! And it's affordable for NY. Enjoy!!!!

Half of the things they advertised on Hostelworld weren't there or didn't work. The staff make no effort to communicate with you and I thought they overcharged during the Christmas time just because they can get away with it. If you get a week unlimited subway pass the location is great and I was never worried about leaving my possessions out onsite in my room. But the atmosphere there was also very bad, there wasn't a good enough area for people to meet and have fun

I booked into a mixed 3-bed dorm and was surprised at the massive space with TWO ensuites, ample personal lockers, and multi-device charger. There's always plenty available at free breakfast; really appreciated the fruit, too! The hostel has all you need and though far from tourist sights in Manhattan, the subway is just round the corner (buy a 7day unlimited for just $29); besides definitely go off the beaten path and explore Brooklyn, esp. E. Williamsberg/Bushwick's great alternative vibe.

The staff were fantastic and helpful, which was great, more than happy to help with any request. The breakfast provided was more than enough and a very welcome money saver. The only problem that I had with the hostel is that it is really noisy. It is right next to a truck depot and they start revving trucks at the crack of dawn. Also, people come and go really really late at night and with the wooden floors the sound of scraping bags and stomping feet is irritating. They do sell earplugs though

Really cool hostel, but doesn't feel like the safest area when you're alone at night.

Another guest took my towel out of the bathroom twice. The continental breakfast was not was advertised. No fruit or yogurt. The milk was sitting out so long it was warm.

Subway convenient and the neighborhood has a good selection of funky cafes as well as some real Brooklyn flavor. Cell phone rental a plus, leant us an umbrella and hairdryer--receptionists were very accommodating. I expected tiny spaces and cheap furnishings but it's a shame they built the walls paper-thin. We hardly got any sleep. And it really doesn't take much to add a fresh coat of paint and keep the place clean. I respect the organization but so many rules posted everywhere is annoying

Decent choice for Brooklyn. Not too far from the subway with hip surroundings. Breakfast quite good, cleanliness not so much - and rather on the expensive side unfortunately.
