Very clean hostel in a perfect location, with spacious rooms and great bathrooms. Had a great outdoor area but didn't seem to be much of an atmosphere there. The staff could be a bit more proactive in this manner.

Really nice hostel! Beautiful clean rooms and really nice property in general, really good to have a fully functioning kitchen where you can cook! Only downfall was the cleaners threw out several of my things assuming they were rubbish I suppose ( hairspray and a cardboard tube full of posters) and the staff didn't really assist with that. But overall excellent, lots of arranged activities too. Good breakfast.

The NYLH is a great place to stay. The bed was alright, people were open and really friendly. Location is great too, would stay there again without hesitating.

Prívate rooms are way too small. A sofa would make no harm.

The staff was really rude and not helpful! We asked them for advise and it felt like we were bothering them :/ The breakfast is not good. And the location is not good either, there isn't much around and to get to the busy part of Brooklyn you need to get the subway cause it's an hour away walking. There were only 3 bathrooms in our floor (with one shower and toilet each) and in the morning they were always dirty.

Excellent hostel, that is def good value for money with very nice, ample facilities and cool amenities (chic outdoor patio and also roofdeck). The bedrooms are very large and spacious and nice character (brick detailing.) Only (very minor) recommendation for hostel - more hooks/hangers in the bedrooms for towels and coats. Otherwise the place is perfect! The patio/terrace is great, as was the availability of breakfast/kitchen. Staff was certainly very friendly and helpful always!

Had a great experience. There was one exception. A "resident" never seemed to leave the hostel, or have his own food, or go to his own room. He was harmless, but a little creepy.

After staying in this hostel that has been designed as a cash cow. We stayed in a tiny shoe box with a bunk bed in a place with little atmosphere where None really hung out. Soon realized we could get a downtown twin share nice hotel room for less then this hostel. This hostel also has many additionally most hotels will do for free. Ie late checkout, and $3pp to leave your bags after checkout if your flight is not until that afternoon. Have stayed in hundreds of hostels and was not overly impres

I really liked this hostel. It is super nice and has everything you need. You will certainly be impressed if you like loft style buildings. I would leave 100%, but the fact that there is a charge for storage if you check out is unnecessary. I have stayed at over 100 hostels in the past 5 years and have never been charged for storage. I have even stayed at 4 hostels in New York and have never been charged for storage. I know it sounds petty, but charging people $3 for storage is petty.

Badges did not work (despite the 5-dollar deposit). To open the room door, we've been given a crowbar ! The kitchen is way to small (only 2 10-person tables) according the numbers of clients. The heating system is for the building and cannot be modulated in the room... and it was very hot inside ; we had to open the windows in the night. Yet, the building is renovated, the rooms are large, there are many restrooms (so no waiting), WiFi is good (not always the case in hostels).

I've had an amazing time at the NYLOFT hostel! Compared to other ones in New York it's definetely the best! It's a very social ambient, perfect if you're travelling alone, the staff is awesome and the localization is great too. Calm yet livefull. I have nothing bad to say about my staying in this hostel!

This Hostle was very large. The down fall was there were way toady kids running around like crazy animals and if you have a car, well good luck finding a parking spot. Otherwise I would stay here again. The people were great and they have a ton of social events you can attend like pub crawls, bus tours, museum trips and much much lore. The kitchen was amazing. You could really cook up a meal in there! Enjoy!!!!

Overall great experience. I wish they'd have tables or counter space in the bathrooms where you could set your clothes while taking a shower. Great big open windows in the kitchen area make breakfasts nice.
