I had a good stay. The staff want always very nice. There are some rules at the reception and nobody cares about them, people wouldnt let me sleep at night because of all the noise and nobody told me anything. Breakfast is okay. You must bring your own towel (they charge $2 for towel each day) and your shampoo, which is fine. There is an extra hospitality fee or something they charge when you get there that is not included when you make the reservation.

Morning receptionist acted like you had interrupted something very important when you wanted to ask a question. Afternoon/evening receptionist is amazing, very friendly and helpful with a great knowledge of Brooklyn. Rooms are huge by hostel standards and the place is really well set out and has great facilities. Really close to the subway so Manhattan is easy to get to. Great place to stay.

The neighborhood looks dodgy but it is really safe. It is really close to Morgan St station on the L line that runs right into Manhatan. Staff was great except who a girl who is well, a New Yorker. It shall work as a good tryout to deal with other newyorkers. There was a locker space in the room, the bathroom were super clean, and breakfast was bountiful. Didn’t had chance to meet much people but maybe it has to do with the season. O and they WON’T check you in before 3.

Great hostel in a hip, quiet neighbourhood slightly away from the bustle of New York. They conveniently offer a $3 luggage storage, free breakfast, and pay computers.

The Hostel International falsely charged my ATM card over one dozen times and the staff was ZERO help with helping me. They did not even have contact information for me. I ended up having to shut my card down ,report the charges as fraudulent and get a temporary card which screwed up my ENTIRE trip. I will sleep on the street before I go to this hostel again. Horrible..

Cool hostel with a NY vibe. Rooms are spacious and clean. I stayed in a 3 female dorm. Some of them are bunk beds and some of them are all single beds. Remember to bring a lock for the lockers provided. Breakfast is plentiful with toast, cereal and waffles. Towels are $2 to rent. Staff were nice and helpful. It's close to the Morgan L line which is very convenient and the best line to get into Manhattan or Williamsburg. Great value for money. Would stay again!

A little less spartan room facilities would help.

Nicest hostel I've ever stayed in! Very clean, newer linens, amazing common areas including a patio and a roof deck. Ample street parking - plenty of spaces right in front of the hostel. Complimentary breakfast included cereal, fruit, toaster waffles, much better than the usual hostel toast & jam. I was traveling with a friend, but will be visiting Brooklyn on my own in a few months and will stay here again. Our room was VERY hot, though. Next time I will bring summer clothes to sleep in.

I've stayed at several hostels in NYC, and this is by far my favorite. (My 2nd stay.) The most spacious hostel I have stayed in -- not just in NY but anywhere! Neighborhood is bland and semi-industrial, but the hostel's facilities are superior. An easy subway ride to Manhattan (not much different than staying there). Just be sure to reserve in advance, cuz they fill up fast.

The hostel is very good and it has a great atmosphere. The shared bathrooms were very clean and the staff was nice and helpful. The neighborhood doesn't look very nice, I must say, but I didn't feel unsafe there, even when I arrived late at night. It is very close to the L train. So, you can easily take a train and get in Manhattan in some minutes. I would stay there again!

+ great area + great rooms + quiet - cold water in the shower - you should reconsider your breakfast offer ( but great, that it exists!!) -please stop the fondue - it's not "eatable"

Actually it is an OK hotstel to stay, with fine location and nice friendly staff. You could get everything next door like bars, pizza place and green convenience store(there are instant noodle cup there). I read terrible things in previous review and now I could tell that it is not true. But The atmosphere and service could be better, to be more international and more active.

A twin ensuite -a shoebox with a window you can't open (only one in the ceiling, no fresh air) minus the space that was occupied by the bathroom. the bathroom wasn't too big (put your knees under the sink while peeing). The good things are: medium clean (not picobello, but ok), sticky-sweet breakfast with coffee flat (saves you money), a really good place to stay. awesome location. comfy, CLEAN bed.fun people around. I'd return, not in #423, but others are bigger.Hostels in Europe are better.

ok overall, but i didn't like that the kitchen was way to small for all the guests so sometimes you had to stand while taking your breakfast (it is only until 9am... 10 am would be more appropriate to enable everybody to have a nice breakfast). There was no possibility to dry your hands in the restrooms, only one hanger in each bathroom (if you were lucky) and no rubbish bins in the rooms! Especially the blond girl on the reception looked extremely bored. Keep improving, guys!
