ok overall, but i didn't like that the kitchen was way to small for all the guests so sometimes you had to stand while taking your breakfast (it is only until 9am... 10 am would be more appropriate to enable everybody to have a nice breakfast). There was no possibility to dry your hands in the restrooms, only one hanger in each bathroom (if you were lucky) and no rubbish bins in the rooms! Especially the blond girl on the reception looked extremely bored. Keep improving, guys!

Staff we're really friendly and professional, rooms were modern, comfortable and clean and the facilities were good. Very quick and easy access to Manhattan, just 2 minutes from the Subway station and 6 or 7 stops straight into Penn Station. I'd recommend it!

The free breakfast was excellent and the energy of the other guests in the kitchen was really fun. I only stayed 1 night but had some great times over waffles. The room was clean and quiet, great for sleeping off my jet lag!

Lots of space. Decent breakfast. Comfy beds. Weird blankets. Confused heating system. Lots of organic and vegan cafes and shops nearby.

Decoration and facilities were excellent. The lady who checked us in was super sweet. I only wish we had been there on warmer night so we could have sat outside on the chic garden area! Only thing that was a bit odd was the lack of blankets. Luckily the heat our room was up pretty high so it was not a major problem.

No complaints. Decent enough location with essential food, drink, coffee nearby in a pinch and direct train access to Manhattan. Security seemed pretty good although it would be nice to have locks in the storage lockers in the rooms. Beds and bathrooms were both clean. Breakfast was a little chaotic but the space is small when its cold and no one can eat outside. Great deal for $30 a night.

A great hostel, two minutes walk from the Subway Station. They offer a wide sortiment of breakfast from 6am-9am, which they could extend to 10am though.. The dorms are light and big. Unfortunately, the bathrooms are too small and you miss a place to put your stuff while being in the bathroom, a shelve, hook etc. The interior at the hostel is cool, and there are a lot of nice places to chill. The kitchen always seems clean, and they have a lot of things going on to mingle peole. Very positive!

Though I stayed only for a short time, I had an amazing experience at the hostel. I love the design, it's super cool & urban, and for the price I payed, I am more then happy with the hostel and overall service. I love the common room - great for meeting new people and chatter. It's located in Williamsburg, great Brooklyn community with cool shops & restaurants. Manhattan is just 15 min away!! I'll look to return in summer, because hostel has great "backyard" to hang out!

The hostel as a building in terms of space, cleanliness, aesthetic and comfort were are GOOD. This hostel of approx. 140 beds needs more organised social activities to facilitate some social interaction, as the free Wi-Fi was far too easily accessed by many travellers to avoid any socialising. Staff generally were average on the level of effort or enthusiasm when dealing with travellers. Stay here if you want to relax, are with friends, but not if travelling solo or looking to meet new people.

This is a great hostel, with very spatious rooms and excellent value for money. The location isn't the best, but subway is only two blocks away. I will definetely stay here again. The promised fondue is gone before you know it (you have to serve a bit more, guys), but their breakfast is awesome!

Good location, close to subway around 20 minutes into Manhattan. Breakfast amazing however could do with more bathrooms as queues every morning and the staff aren't very helpful...when I asked about a laundrette (as for some reason this massive hostel doesn't have one!!!) the women on reception didn't have a clue and told me she thought it was around a 20 minute walk when in fact there is one at the end of the road! Would stay here again however as a good hostel with good size rooms.

The only real complaint would be that the bathroom smelled of cigarette smoke and wasn't the cleanest, but it was passable.

Overall an OK hostel. I got waken up at 5 am by a guy saying I was in his bed. The reason is that the system the hostel has to assign bed is quite poor (receipt and clips). Lockers are extremely small. Cleaning ladies are very kind and nice, but the "cool" guys at the door are much less so. The girl at the check out was quite rude and impolite, not only with me.

There was nothing that stood out as spectacular about this hostel. It was easy to meet people, as a solo traveler. Breakfast was good, the location was convenient, and if I were to stay in NYC again, I would stay here. I've also stayed at the HI Hostel in Manhattan, but the New York Loft was more enjoyable.
