This hostel has great atmosphere, its quite big so you'll bump into plenty other backpackers. i wouldn't recommend it if you want a good nights sleep, there's a lot of noise late in the night, but that doesn't matter if your out yourself:)

Staff were super friendly and very accomodating. Very clean bathrooms, cosy fireplaces and well kept rooms made me feel I was in a hotel and not a backpackers. Undoubtedly, this is the best backpackers I have come across in Australia to date...

really comfy hostel probably the cleanest bed I have stayed in at a hostel for a long time. Absolutely no complaints and being upgraded to the twin room for no extra was an appreciated bonus!

A fabulous hostel in a great location, in beautiful Melbourne. It has an amazing atmosphere and is a fun place to stay. The staff are a fantastic bunch of people, very friendly and helpful. I can\'t fault them in any way! There isn\'t a bad thing to say about the place, if your looking for something different then your average hostel, then this is it.

Very nice hostel. Most of the people were amazing. I loved the planned activities even though due to jet lag was unable to attend. Would defiantly stay there again!

Kitchen was a bit small We appreciated the bathroom in the dormitory and the breakfast We've been awaken by a dog at 3am but otherwise it was calm at night and we like it this way Cheers

Staff was really nice and helpful, very relaxed place. Only thing that disturbed me a bit, was the hair on bathroom floors :P but if I'm around sometimes, I'm sure I'd come again :-)

Generally a great hostel but just very dirty. The bedding had loads of dodgy stains, my friend had bedbugs and the showers were filthy all the time. Also, no wifi, I know it's not yet common across Aus but still...

I will never stay at this place again. It was expensive, over crowded and uncomfortable. The room was like a prison cell. It was impossible to access the top bunk because of the ladder. It was far too small. The washing facilities were barely tolerable and the kitchen was a dirty, unhygienic facility that i will never visit again, thank god.

It's a very nice hostel. The building has its charme und the location near the tram and to the center is good. But what we think concerning cleanliness is that the management has to keep an eye on it, may be have to be more striktly and may be has to arrange additional measures during the day to remove and clean used cups, plates and empty bottles which can be found in the kitchen, garden, TV-room etc. Of course the problem is at first with the guests. The staff at the reception was very competent

Great location.. Close to Brunswick St where the action is! However, some staff at reception were a bit cold and weren't very welcoming... Although i would stay there again!

Everything about this hostel was good although one member of the group of 7 became totally covered in bedbug bites - at first we thought it was mosquitos but to have bites over every part of the body, including stomach, thighs and groin? I mean, EVERYWHERE. The cleanliness of the hostel outwardly appeared ok but this was really bad and to spend the rest of your holiday scratching and suffering (not to mention how terrible it looked) isn't fun.

During our stay seemed to be full of hyperactive 18 year olds. Very noisy and rude at times, maybe it\'s my age but still someone switching on a hifi full blast outside your dorm room at 4am doesn\'t make for a peaceful night. Great location though, with trams nearby and loads of restaurants and bars. Cool building, think we were unlucky with who was staying. Kitchen very small though so didn\'t bother using, ate out as so much choice.Bathrooms were a bit unclean not awful but the worst on my trip.

The Nunnery was fantastic! We loved the location. The kitchen was a little small and it was a little on the more exspensive side - so no real complaints. We'd definitely go back and recommend it.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. very close to Fitzroy. The rooms were lovely and clean and the free breakfast was nice along with coffee and tea. The only downfall was not having free wifi which is handy if you are travelling on a budget.

One of the best hostels I\'ve been to, The Nunnery just has a relaxing feel to it. Free breakfast, movie night and the pub crawl are all awesome ways to meet lots of people. The place just feels cozy and relaxing. People often bring their own music/shows as the TV in the main room supports USB sticks and various audio/video formats. A truly remarkable hostel. I do hate how the kitchen closes at 11pm though...too early when you need to get to your late night snack!

Great atmosphere, great location, beautiful guesthouse. It's definitely not the cleanest place to be and it sucks that there is no free wifi, but the location and the atmosphere totally make up for it!
