The perfect hostel with a nice relaxing atmosphere. The first hostel we stayed at with a sauna and spa pool that was free of charge. You get free wifi and playing with the resident dog was another bonus. Loved the gardens and the tranquil and easy going ambience. Great beds with good mattresses, hot showers and kitchens with good appliances. Very helpful girls at reception. We loved it – Thanks!

This is a styled hostel which is clean and different to anywhere I have stayed before. The rooms are large and the showers clean. It also includes free internet which does not work most of the time. The staff are incredibly helpful.

A staff don't have enough information about in chch.its German hostel!!

We were greeted by a lady with a very militant approach, who started off the conversation demanding ID off us. After seeing our booked accommodation and realising its unsuitability we tried to cancel our booking, however, she refused to cancel it and stated that we would be charged for both nights (you have to book a minimum of 2 nights). Very inflexible and rude service. With shockingly rigid terms & conditions. Also, location of the hostel is now very poor due to the earthquakes...

Laura and Hilde are among the most able and friendly staff I've come across in six months of travelling. I made a mistake in my booking, and instead of leaving me on the street because they had no dorms, they put me in a private room at no extra cost. Hostel is a beautiful setup - a few kitchens, so it never gets too busy, lounges, a free hot spa, and a nice grassy area in the middle to relax if the NZ sun is shining.

Nice place. Exceptionally clean and tidy. Nice big kitchen and sitting room areas to use during the day. Good atmosphere within the hostel, not so much outside but that is more a reflection upon the city after the earthquake than the accommodation.

Directly across the road from a supermarket, video rental and Subway restaurant. Lots of character.
