After accommodation with a difference?
The Old Mount Gambier Gaol was opened in 1866 and closed as a prison in 1995.
Recently refurbished and under new management we offer unique, affordable, backpacker and boutique style accommodation in both cell and non-cell rooms for travellers of all ages.
We are currently completing renovations on our Sports Bar and have a Cafe, beer garden and meditation garden coming soon.

Latest Review
We stayed in may which we found a little cold. And extra blanket would have been nice. The gaol itself is good and u truly have an experience as you room is a real cell. Would stay here again but in hotter weather. Also there was a band playing when we stayed here and the partygoers can get quite noisy late at night which might not suit early risers. Overall a truly different experience and we liked this hostel.
