We ordered the Private Twin room and got the 4 bunk beds room. The bed is not comfortable. But the location is great, very close to Hidden Valley and Glendalough. It is not expensive anyway.

The Old Presbytery provided a quiet place for us to enjoy a few restful days. We found the kitchen facilities to be great, with lots of space for cooking and eating and ample storage for food we brought in. We were in a private twin room and ended up with a double bed/twin bed bunk combo which was great!
It was not clean. Sheet cover not changed: regular and pubic hair!
I booked a twin private, paying a price of what would normally include include breakfast as well. Instead, I had a room full of bunk beds, which was not at all what I was expecting from my booking. Very disappointed, feel that I was misinformed about the room per the website.
After just arriving in Ireland this was a perfect place to have our first night. It was in a small town, easy to get, and very comfortable. The staff were extremely nice and very helpful in starting our trip on the right foot. I would definitely recommend this hostel to future travelers and would go back myself.
Typical cheap youth hostel environment - don't expect too much. The buildings and rooms are very spartan - minimum furniture, etc. Good for sleeping, but I wouldn't spend much time there. If you want to visit the Wicklow mountains and just want a place to sleep, it's OK. If you want more, go elsewhere. It was not easy to find the place - even with a GPS, becasuse you cannot see the building from the road, and there is no visible sign. The lady looking after the place was a bit strange too.
A code to enter the building but no keys for the room so security is not great. Location : Rathdrum is small but not really nice and the hostel is not in the town centre (i don't mind the walking but the surroundings were not pleasant) Staff was great, very friendly and funny! The room was not so clean and above all very damp. Mattresses not great (i slept ok, not my friend)
Have used this hostel many times, availing of both dormitory and private rooms. A great place for meeting nice people from around the world!
Functional hostel, very clean. Friendly welcome from John on arrival.
Friendly welcome by hostel manager. Very good kitchen set up with cookers & tables but the fridge was completely inadequate for the numbers accomodated in the hostel. Small lounge positioned in the middle of the walkway for entry and exit. The manager is not on site therefore there was no control of noise at night & we had to go down the street to buy a can opener as the manager could not be contacted. Shower in our room was very unsighty siliconed completely around the square of the shower base
