I do not recommend this hostel if you are a (solo) traveller. It is mainly visited by large groups of schoolchildren so there is not much of an atmosphere to meet fellow travellers and the bathrooms became quite dirty. Also the kitchen is very poorly equipped with only one huge pot (no lid, pan, sieve etc.), it wasn't even possible to simply boil water for pasta in it! Breakfast is great however, and the rooms are clean. The location couldn't be better as it is right in the middle of the town.
After having some difficulties with the staff at the first day, the stay was quite nice, the rooms clean and the rest of the staff very friendly. The location is excellent. The breakfast comes as a buffett with bread, cheese, salami and cereals.
The selling point of this hostel is its location right on the main square. If you get a double, splurge for the deluxe which has a window to the square. The hostel is filled with large school groups and has an institutional atmosphere like a HI hostel. The common room is a bunch of folding tables, not a place to hang out and meet other travelers. This is not a social backpackers place. There's an unrelated pub downstairs that blasts awful technopop music, so you're better off hanging elsewhere.
