Pros: Many common rooms so there are plenty of places to meet new people. Awesome cooking facilities. Cleaned often. Well thought out rooms (there are no slam doors on all the rooms). Super friendly and helpful staff. They have a fresh-juice maker. Amazing pillows. Bar downstairs. The most amazing breakfast you will ever have at a hostel (ever). Cons: It is just a great place you will have to book some time in advance as they get booked out... often... Just do it.

Great staff, good location, wonderful breakfast. On the downside, when front common room is locked there are only 2 toilets/showers which can have queues, whilst rooms are either stifflingly hot, or freezing cold with constant droning noise when AC is on, although this is fairly standard.

The Only has to, by far, be the best hostel I've ever stayed at! Absolutely lovely staff, great atmosphere, I honestly spent more time here than in Toronto. Although a little out of downtown, everything is within reach, and the breakfast waffles truely are to die for. Stay here if it's the last thing you do!

I was more than impressed with this cozy little hostel. They are right next to the metro (really, less than a minutes walk!) The staff were obviously in love with their jobs and couldn't do more to please everyone. With a severe gluten allergy, I couldn't eat the free waffle breakfast so they gave me a bowl of fresh fruit, the next day had fresh gluten-free pastries waiting for me!!! The place was safe, in a very great neighborhood surrounded by awesome restaurants. I would stay again anytime!

A small but nice hostel with a vibrant environment where you feel immediately like at home. The staff is very kind and easy going, they always made me feel comfortable. The negative point is the location, a bit far from the downtown and main attractions, although very close to the subway.

great hostel, tons of character, cool cafe and pub on the first floor. a little bit out of the way from downtown, but a cool neighborhood with great greek food. my only problem was that we booked four beds in an eight-bed dorm and they split us up, two in each room. other than that, a great experience.

as much as i love The Only, (it's like a second home to me, when i used to live in Toronto, I'd go there for coffee in the morning and beer at night) because of there being only a couple dorm rooms, girls and boys have to bunk together, and I am usually not opposed to things like this, but unfortunately this time a boy who was bunking in my room decided he'd crawl into my bed and wouldn't leave me be. It was disturbing and difficult to get him out & left me fearful all night that he'd try again.

Great hostel in every respect! The staff is tireless in keeping it clean, all facilities are available, the location is great (just a few steps from the subway, and tons of little restaurants, and cafes around), the best breakfast in town -either waffles with fresh fruit, or gourmet coffee and delicious pastries- Great atmosphere all around. Disregard any comments about any eventual problems that may arise in the mixed dorms. This place is completely safe, and nothing to worry about.

A great vibe, friendly staff, unbeatable waffle breakfast, prepared fresh by friendly bartenders, the convenience of having an awesome Indie café, and a pub downstairs, always nice people around, a fully equipped kitchen... Great features for this friendly, alternative backpackers hotel, that attracts people from all over the world, that feel so good that stay for long stretches of time. Also a good deal for longer stays!

One of the hostels with the best flair. It´s located in Greektown but the there´s a subway station right behind the hostel, so there´s no problem to reach the downtown. The bar is awesome, great selection of different beers around the world, a café with deliceaus coffe and a legendary waffle breakfast. Staff is friendly and helpfull. My first choice for Toronto.

Seemed very diorganized when we arrived. Having to check in in the cafe was difficult during the coffee rush. A lock on the doors would have been great too.It was a good price, charming, clean and the best hostel/hotel breakfast ever! No parking provided but continently close to the metro.

How lucky to find the Only when seeking a safe, low-cost place in this part of Toronto. Staff were very welcoming and helpful. Facilities were clean and up to date. Nice to have a locker for some small electronics and valuables. The other visitors were kind and interesting. Only shortcoming to my 6-bed room was that we were in fairly tight quarters, with little storage space. And the temperature was quite warm, esp on my top bunk. During my stay, extra storage space was being added.

We stayed the third time now in this Hostel and every time we had a good time there. If not for the hostel we would go back for the free waffle-breakfast ;-)

The Only was a great hostel with lots of colour and character. The staff were friendly and the hostel was always clean. The location was good because of its closeness to the subway and shops, but it was a bit far from downtown Toronto. Overall great vibe and relaxed atmosphere, would definitely recommend to others.

A welcome addition to the Toronto hostel scene. Ultra-friendly staff (thanks Ines!), clean facilities decorated with character, great waffle breakfast with whipped cream and berries, strong wifi. Overall an excellent hostel.
