Okay, the positives...the free waffle breakfast is insane. The bar and cafe both have a nice atmosphere and aren't noisy or too expensive. Also, location wise, being so close to the subway meant it was pretty easy to go anywhere and not feel like we were missing out being more central. Negatives, the skylight in the dorm made us wake up at 6 o'clock. 3 sets of bunk beds plus everybody's luggage meant the room was cramped and also some of the staff were incredibly apathetic and unhelpful

Pros: Awesome waffle breakfast! Nice outdoor patio. Ample toilets/showers, even 2 baths! Great nearby take-aways. Quality bar downstairs - 20 real beers on tap! Cons: The hostel (not the bar) staff are very anti-social (apart from Wei), especially the one who leaves threatening notes regarding cleaning up ("you know who you are!"). Skylight wakes you up early. No guards on top bunks. No ventilation in rooms. Bar downstairs closes at 3am - so why does the common room close at 11pm?

Cozy, clean and good position. liked it!

The hostel is nice but the staff which mostly works on the cafe downstair is always attending the regular customers of the cafe so they weren't really available to answer other questions regarding Toronto, things to do and to see. It's something I usually appreciate from hostels' staff. Beds are really close to each other. It's not confortable.

very beautiful hostel. as u know theres a bar downstairs, it can get a little loud at night. our room did not have a window, what i personally didnt like. the waffle brekki makes up for it :) its a very lovable hostle anyway!

the only has beautiful decor and really nice lay out. kitchen is lovely as is the common room and patio. however it is a very quite hostel, maybe it was just the crowd when i was there but this 100% not a party hostel, if you are looking for somewhere quite, clean, nice decor, good facilities and friendly staff this place is perfect, however if you are looking for something a bit lively i would recommend closer to the city. :)

The hostel itself was fine, good beds and facilities. The staff seemed very unfriendly, started leaving threatening notes when we didnt clean a dish after half an hour.

The best hostel in Toronto with some of the best staff. For confidentiality reasons I will not mention names but you know who you are! Best Breakfast in town also, worth the price of the hostel alone.

A lovely small hostel. The staff were all very friendly and as the other reviews recommend, the waffle breakfast was amazing and the reason I woke up early. Clean and secure with a nice patio and friendly bar and cafe downstairs. Would definitely stay again.

Great hostel, little out of town but 30seconds from the TTC (metro) so no problem. Staff really friendly. Free breakfast was delicious

This hosel is awesome. I thought at first that i dont like it cause it is kind.of far away from downtown. But the subway is just one minute walke away. The breakfast beats every other hostelbreakfast i ever had. Waffels with cofe and bananas and so much more. It fills you up until dinnier. The painting in the hostel make you feel like home. The padio has the whole day sun and the bar downstairs is nice for a cold beer. Enjoy your stay :-)

The Only Backpackers Inn is an amazing place to stay, its small so you get to know everyone, the artwork indoors gives it a sense of individuality and don't forget the free waffle breakfast. The only drawbacks of the hostel are that the rooms are a bit small, but its not too much of a problem as they are rarely full.

Fantastic experience! Like the design, atmosphere and staffs!! Especially, I cannot forget the tasty breakfast served in a cafe ddownstairs =] They have three washrooms so I don't think it was uncomfortable. I'm looking forward to get a chance to stay there one more time

The staff were very friendly and approachable, less than a minute from the subway and was very clean and well kept

Sky light in the room sucked come sun rise, ladders on the bunks were painful and rooms a bit cramped. These issues aside it was still a nice little hostel with an amazing waffle breakfast!

nice hostel. little bit far away from downtown. the rooms are really small and you almost don't have any space to store your luggage.
