The staff was very friendly and helpful and there was a great atmosphere in the hostel. The only bad thing was you had to pay for wifi and it was very, very slow.

Really nice hostel. We booked a twin room and were disappointed not to be in the original Victorian building. The room was small but adequate, and the bed was comfy. The room faced onto the courtyard which was very loud in the evenings as people use the benches for drinking or socialising. The hostel does operate a strict curfew on this area though, and by 10:10 there was silence. Overall it was a very good stay and certainly value for money in an expensive town.

friendly staff but know NOTHING! Asked where to go for the best view of the opera house.. they didnt know, asked where to go if I would like to eat at a good resturant, didnt know but worst of all.. I asked where to go to catch my bus going to Byron bay - which they had booked for me - and they they told me somewhere in the COMPLETE opposite direction (like 3 km away) so missed my bus and had 2 wait another 24 hrs. Didnt go back to this hostel, but went to YHA central instead.. WAAAAY better!
