Close to most things to do in San Juan, about a 5 min walk to the old San Juan shuttle! Fun place to hangout and meet people!

We were told this hostel was close to things and we would not need a rental car. We choose to get one and when we got there the person who checked us in said we would need a car. Some put this is near a party area? If your party includes prostitutes and homeless people I suppose. No at all thrilled with the neighborhood one block south which due to one way streets you had to go through to get there.

If it rains your ganna get wet. I liked the area close to locals but far from airport. Rooms are nice, tight but good ac. Lockers suck, staff is ok if your drinking with them. The hostel in Fajardo is much better.

Revolting! It was terrible in all meanings!Almost 1 hour away from Old San Juan (we did the walk)! The smell (still in our clothes and sleeping bags) was unberable! Everything seems to fall apart, both kitchens are unusable and I don't know where to start about the bathrooms. The photos on thier advertising is NOTHING like the reality. The level of cleaningness is decent but not good. Communal areas were uninviting! The staff is just not bother with anything. Only cash accepted, no receipts.

Let's make this clear: you're not staying here for the sake of the quality of bedding. This hostel is where you'll meet some cool people, starting with the staff. Spend some time in the common areas and you'll have several overlapping plans by the end of the night. Don't expect much from the amenities, but stay for the people! Also, check out the murals around the Calle Cerra.

Astrid was a great host, very welcoming! The hostel atmosphere was great: outside areas for chatting and talking, and beautiful vines covering the front of the building. The beds indeed were very soft, and they provided towels! The air conditioner was astoundingly loud. A great value for $20/night.

For $20/night for a private room, the Palace Hostel was definitely a good bargain. The room was ok, and the staff were friendly, but finding the hostel was almost impossible the first time due to all of the one way streets and the staff were NOT helpful when we called for directions. Also the bathrooms didn't really have hot water, but luckily we didn't mind after a day in the sun. Location was great, walking distance to a lot of places.

A little hard to locate, but staff was very friendly when I arrived. GPS is a must have. Watch out for 1 way streets. LOL

The hostel was in a nice location- in a safe neighborhood, but a long walk from Old San Juan (it took us prob 40 mins to walk to the east edge of Old San Juan). The hostel was clean. The staff was little hard to find sometimes... there were a few people working there, but I didn't really know who they were. Everyone was really nice, and gave us some good recommendations for things to do in the area. There didn't seem to be too many dishes or silverware in the kitchen for use during breakfast

Decent hostel...A little off the beaten path but about a 10-15 min to the beach. Overall a quiet, laid-back place to stay with a friendly staff. I wish there were a little more information available for travelers. A/C and free breakfast were definitely a plus.

The staff was a little weird and unorganized, as if they just decided "hey, let's run a hostel!" but after all they did their job so i guess thats allright. Breakfast was quite good, compared to other hostels! Shower had no warm water, yet it wasnt cold and PR is hot so it wasnt that bad. Neighborhood is not really nice. Taxidriver told us to go directly to the hostel - we were a group of 9!! After all it was a nice stay though, not very cheap bcs at night u might consider taking a cab but ok!

This is the perfect place to go if you're traveling solo. The staff will help you get to your destination and perhaps, if you're lucky, they tag along. Amazing people, great vibe, great rooms. I will be back!!

It is a hostel, so I guess, what should I expect?!?! Nonetheless, it was dirty and clearly not a lot of TLC is given to it on a regular basis. Staff are taking the opportunity to travel and get free lodging (???), and clearly have very little experience in the hospitality industry. Don't get me wrong, they were nice. Just pretty oblivious.
