The Palms Backpackers Reviews

I do not understand why this hostels has got so bad reviews. I have been totally satisfied with my stay. It is a small hostel with a familiar atmosphare. Friendly staff and it was not more dirty than other hostels.

Booked in to stay here but were told on arrival they were fully booked. They sent us to Central Backpackers instead. This place didn't look great and the room we were given was nothing like the one we had booked at Palms. The Central Backpackers was having work done so we had to go up 4 flights of stairs, over the roof terrace(the best thing about this place) then back down 2 more flights, everytime we came in or out. Also quite a weird atmosphere just generally.

To be honest, the people there were great and you could walk to all the sites. However, the place was pretty messy, I had to grab my own sheets to put the bed together, and half the time I couldn't find a staff member to ask questions or to check in/out. For the Kings Cross area, I'm sure this is the usual and the price was about average.

worst stay ever

We booked through Hostelworld more than 1 week before coming to Sydney and we arrived, the hostel was already full...They double booked our beds. The manager apparently forgot to add us in his list. So we paid a deposit for nothing and had to look for another hostel at 9.30pm.
