Simple and brilliant. Honestly there isn't anything fancy about this place however it does fantastic trip deals and the staff are energetic and will go above and beyond what's expected to give you the best experience(s) you will have and you get a free evening meal everyday as well as nights out. Very good place
Staff was very friendly and helpful. We spent there just two nights but really enjoyed it. The only and really big problem was with noise at night which was totally over limit. Our windows were to a backyard and we really couldnt sleep.. Maybe it was beacuse we were there through weekend but anyway it was quite a lot..
Very nice hostel, nice staff, nice location. Really nice people in the hostel and had a great time!
Not a hostel for fancy stupid people. Anyone can get inside easily without beeing noticed, lockers in the rooms are broken, not the cleanest place I've been... However, it should not change because it is a really unique hostel and I really enjoined it. The staff are all travellers staying a couple of months in Sydney, which gives you more freedom than usual. Everybody is easygoing and nice. Good kitchen with nice stoves and fridges. Nice talking at nights. Dont be afraid with the stupid reviews.
The front door was left open at 4am. The bathroom door was haflway rusted and did not shut or lock. Shower was quite moldy.
The room was pretty unclean, and the fisrt thing we heard from the guy in the same dorm as us was "be careful and lock your stuff, I've been robbed yesterday ..." hopefully we only stayed one night in this place, and that was enough. The atmosphere was not particularly good either.
You get what you pay for. Stayed in the flat which smelled terrible and the bathroom was disgusting. The place was run by a bunch of kids. Two random girls came in our room and said "they paid to sleep on the floor." The place was basically falling apart. Had to put a key deposit down when no one else in the flat had keys because the door doesn't lock.

The staff in general were rude and we were made to feel unwelcome from the outset. The shower was horrible. You probably were dirtier after having the shower. The atmosphere was non-existent. To compound things, we were unable to recoup the $20 room key deposit because there was no staff available to return it. This was at 7 45 am!!!! Shocking. I have spoken to others who have stayed at this hostel and they experienced similar inadequacies. By far the worst hostel I have stayed in in Australia.

Had a great stay at the palms. When breakfast is gone, it's gone so don't bank on there being bread left at 10. Kitchen gets busy and dirty in the evening, get in there before 7. Reception hours are short so check your arrival time against reception time. Very social hostel and for $15, excellent value
This place was absolutley disgusting. So dirty, and unkempt. The reception desk has very strange hours, which weren't advertised on Hostelworld, and it definitely isn't close to the city center. People are living there so the rooms are full of grime, and the wear and tear of everyday life. Not pleasant.
