The Phoenix Hotel is a great choice for the airport. I actually stayed 3 days, left my luggage there and walked to the Airport Link line to go into Bangkok for appointments etc. It takes about 15-25 minutes, depending on where you are going. The staff at the Phoenix go out of their way to help with arrangements, luggage storage etc....I was surprised at how nice my room was for the price.
Great place close to the airport, free pickup from the airport and free ride back when you fly out; The neighborhood is good; not great but it is more like how an actual thai neighborhood is in Bangkok. Not touristy but a great place to stay.
The staff and the Hotel itself was good. But during the 3 days which I stayed there no one cleaned the room. If you think about the fact that you are not allowed to throw toilet paper in the toilet and you have to throw it in the bin it is a bit disgusting that no one cleans it fordays. The room itself was good (nice bed, good AC, small balcony) except from the shower. It looked a bit dirty, the water temperature changed a lot of times spontanously and the water didnt drain off.

The location can make you feel a bit unsafe to walk around - but we walked to the sky link station without no trouble at all. It's a great option for short layovers - comfy and showers work great.
Great location to access the airport early in the morning and the shuttle to the airport is free! Not a great location though for food or any of Bangkok's sights. Be prepared to take the sky train and metro to get into the more lively parts of the city.
Great environment at the cafe. nice socializing spot. Location is not the greatest but at least there is a 7/11 around the corner.
Perfect for airport stopovers, free shuttle bus was awesome and enabled us to easily head into bangkok centre for the evening via the city line. Bathroom could do with some updating and need to have a hook to hold the shower head when showering but perfectly clean, friendly and helpful staff as I say perfect for a stopover.
Everything was really clean. Good pick up from the airport. Maybe a bit noisy with barking dogs outside, but that was even doable.
The facility was good for the price that I paid. However I did not like how they said that I ruined a pillow case and did not confront me until check out. They saved the pillow case fr the night before then at checkout they said you have to pay for it. If they had tried to wash it and it was ruined that would have been different but they just held them at the desk so that I could pay for it..😒
The hotel's location, though close to the airport was a little off-putting since it was down a random alleyway. However, the hotel itself was very nice for what it cost, especially in contrast with what you'd get for the same money back home. The beds were comfortable, the rooms well air-conditioned and clean. The cafe was also nice. Would definitely recommend as a cheap transit hotel.
Airport shuttle was very convenient
