The dowstairs would've been good to hang out, but the bar closed at 10. All the facilities were filthy. I didn't even shower because I'd rather wait to get to my next destination, and ate out instead of having to cook in such a dirty kitchen. Rust came out of the sink in my room. We paid for a double private, but the windows were bare and looked into the windows of the opposite dorm room. For the more than $60 we paid for a double room, we could have almost stayed at one of the cheap hotels. The dowstairs would've been good to hang out, but the bar closed at 10. Very quircky hostel, would definitely stay here again. Everything is quite run down but goes in them with its rustic character. Loved the staff, fireplaces, and vibe of the place.Very quircky hostel, would definitely stay here again. Everything is quite run down but goes in them with its rustic character. THERE WAS A GUITAR!! Cheap beer and a big open fire....what more could ya want on a Winter's night in Tasmania?? DVD collection was random but there was a good wide screen tv to watch them on and the staff were super friendly!! There's a welcome blackboard as ya walk in and they write everyone's names who are checkin in that day on it! A nice touch, especially if you're travelling alone....THERE WAS A GUITAR!!
