Excellent backpacker hostel. Surprisingly clean room. It is not the most luxurious, but a great low cost accommodation. Very cool experience.

Hostel is quite tumbledown! WiFi doesn't work when some people want to surf at the same time. Staff is friendly. Ok for a short stay.

This is a lively fun hostel to spend a few days in. It has an atmosphere all its own. Lots of space and places to hang out in the house like hostel. Enjoyed the wall art and the big fluffy house dog.

It's a really basic hostel, the room is small but the lounge area is comfy that you can hang around for few hours, watch a movie and meet people.

After talking to various people, it seems the hostels in Hobart are not the best, which is probably why this hostel is rated higher than others- perhaps it's the best of a bad bunch. Staff were ok, got some good advice from the guy with glasses working there, others looked like they were more interested in chatting with mates, playing with dog, having a drink, than dealing with guests. Cleanliness a problem, place smells a bit rank and don't look under the beds, they need a good clean!

Jimmy and Emma were great, willing to help with anything. Rooms were decent and there was a nice atmosphere in and around the lounge area. Good location with a 5 minute walk to the centre. Free shuttle to the top of mount Wellington is a great bonus.

I stayed at Pickled Frog for 2 nights in a 4 bed dorm room. really enjoyed my stay. Facilities are simple but clean. Loved the bar with organic tea available and the sink with mirror in the room. Not many people and nice staff members. Computer are really helpful too.

Loved the place, great atmosphere!

I feel the vision for the hostel is conflicted. There is a bar up front but you tell everyone quiet hours are enforced at 11 pm. You can't be a working/family/party hostel, they're all exclusive categories. Also the internet was inconsistent as hell and booted people constantly. The male showers had pressure issues, not enough pressure. I really felt that you were artificially raising your rating by telling people not to mark you down on reviews if something wasn't working.

Great place, friendly staff, free trips to Mt Wellington, cleaned daily, nice vibe, cheap beer and good coffee! And we loved Baloo the dog he was awesome! One of the best places we have stayed in Australia!! Cheers team frog :)

All good but really noisy. Glass door doesn't help. Acoustics carry all noise, even from bathroom down hall and around the corner. Hostels depend on the courtesy of the guests so showers and hair dryers at 1am and talking in corridors loudly at 2am are not the fault of the hostel. Facilities are great and staff friendly.

Good budget hostel. Right down the street from the main pickup area for the airport shuttle. It's the kind of place where people can choose to be very social or solitary with wide, spacious common areas.
