Bit of a walk to the main area but the hostel itself is very nice. Good bar area & pool. Rooms were lovely but a lot of the tuk tuk drivers create quite a racket in the morning. Still there are other hostels in Mancora that will find far more to keep you awake. Would recommend.
Wonderful hostel with amazing staff. Love the slack line across the pool. Only downside is their location.
Great Hostel although a 10 minute walk out of the main part of Mancora. Not that it really matters as there's nothing in Mancora to see. Great bar at the Hostel with pool and you can buy decent meals there from the cafe/restaurant they have there.
The facilities of the hostel are really nice, having the pool is cool, the only down side of the hostel id the Wifi which WHEN it works, it does really, really slow. Which it is annoying if you want to do somr research as Mancora is kinda your middle point between Ecuador and south of Peru... besides this, the hostel is good, huge common areas, tasty kitcheen, hot water, etc.
It's a good hostel. It is true that it is a 5 minutes ride from the center but that is not really a problem. I'd consider it an advantage since the beach in mancora is not as pretty... atmosphere is great in the hostel!! Staff was ok, didn't really have a clue about things to outside mancora but well... hostel was very clean but i'm not sure if they change bed sheets after every visitor. Some beds are comfortable others are not at all....cchanged beds 3 times...
Nice big space. Rooms were clean, and spacy. The lounge area and the pool was also pretty nice and good to chill. The staff do a good job to try to make you have a good time. A little bit away from the main town, but not a big issue as you can walk down the beach. But was warned to not do so at night.
Really nice pool area and bar and . Dodgy location - I was walking to hostel from the main road and locals told me to get a mototaxi or risk getting mugged. Others received a police escort midway on the walk. Really bad wifi. Toilets get blocked a lot. I stayed 2 nights. Next time in Mancora would stay in town.
Amazing! Great atmosphere and the bar staff get everyone together with games all day and night. We planned to stay for 4 nights but stayed for 8 instead. Only issue is location and facilities, if you want to go in to town at night it's a tut tut ride and the pool area could do with a few cushions on the chairs or something
Liked that it was a little out of town... Restaurant did lovely food.. Really nice chilling round the pool... Comfy beds and hot showers ...
We had an amazing time at the point!! While it's out of the way of the main strip, it's only a 3 soles ride and they always have a taxi waiting for people. The pool was kinda dirty but it was still really nice to have, though the beach is only a few minutes away as well. They have decent food and you get an omelet for breakfast. The atmosphere is awesome. So much fun and so many awesome people!! The manager was incredible as well. Highly recommend.
Hostel was a ten min beach walk from town (which we loved, the beach near the hostel is more private). Great overall vibe. Only downside was music is blasted from 10am to 2am. So much Katie Perry...
Had an excellent stay. Brilliant vibes and staff. 100% would come back here. The only hostel in South America that I didnt want to leave.
Excellent food on site, chilled out atmosphere and cool staff. 10/10 would stay again!
Conveniently right beside the beach, but super sketchy road to get there. Mancora in general can be pretty sketchy. Hostel was nice enough, sweet pool, good atmosphere, delicious food, and happy hour three times a day.
It is A very fun hostel to stay in. The food was great value and tasty. Although the guard walked into my room without knocking and saw me naked and I was not too happy about that. My dorm room also slept four people but there was only two lockers in the room which could be a problem as there are no others available.
All in all it was good. Lost if activities, good happy our specials, food was good large portions. Large pool, pool table. Music went way too late, I think it stopped at 5:30am. Wi-Fi was bad.
I stayed at the point mancora for two weeks and absolutely loved it. I worked behind the bar for 10 of those days and it was awesome! The facilities are great, the pool has a slack line over it, theres a volleyball court and the staff are always organising fun activities for the guests. Its a reasonably big hostel but the atmosphere is still super friendly, all the guests interact and the bar is lively nearly every night!
Awesome place to chill, great staff, pool and food. There is no reason to leave The Point Mancora.
Felt instantly at home here, the rooms and bathrooms are clean and comfortable, we were given a bed at 5am which was very much appreciated after a night bus! Breakfast includes a bit of egg with the standard bread and the food is reasonably priced for the portion sizes. Walk to the main town which is good for sleep but you can get tuktuks too.
The Point was very great place to kick back and relax and have a good time. The staff is great they change staff all the time, so if you are looking for somewhere to work while traveling The Point is the place. It was about a 1 minute walk to the beach and about a 20 minute walk down the beach to the city. But if you really don't want too you could easily spend a whole day at the hostel. It was very fun and a great place to meet fellow travelers.
