Stayed 3 nights and had a blast. The staff, and owners (George, his parents and family) are the best. The pool/bar area is always busy with music and cheap food and drinks (shots for just 1.5 euro). They bend over backwards to pick you up and drop you off at the port. The rooms are good, clean and have balconies. The beds are a bit hard but not the worst I've slept on. Right on the beach
Only complaint is that even the indoor bathrooms feel like outhouses. But otherwise everything is perfect. George is a loveable tour de force. Everyone else is incredibly friendly. Beautiful beach steps away. Town is an easy and beautiful walk (or cab or bus, both frequent).
For a backpacker who wants to party on Ios, this is a hidden gem. Excellent value for money, amazing location right next to the beach and bus stop. Great common area are and facilities. The staff is helpful and overly kind. The cleanliness is a bit below par but I didn t mind to much and for the cheap price you pay, it is all right. I would definitely recommend this place to a fellow backpacker. The late night walk back from the village is only 20 min and downhill, which is fine.
Shoutout to George who made our time in Ios one of a kind. My friend hurt her foot and he drove us to and from the hospital, he even carried her up and down stairs. You guys rock. Had the sweetest time. Will definitely be back!
Terrible door handles, low pressure water, no hot water second day
Nice and chilled out, great pool area. Close to the beach and lots of restaurants, 20min walk to the main town. Fun place to party but not as full on as Far Out!
George is the absolute best! Such a friendly guy. This place was cute, clean and had everything you'd need. It was a little quiet so can be a little hard to meet people, but the bar is cool. A little far from the town but easy to get to by bus. Would stay again!
My friend and I arrived just before the start of peak season, but we still had a great vibe at the Purple Pig. Great location - you can have a great time and still get some rest (unlike many of the other hostels on Ios). Only a few minutes walk from the Far Out Beach Club and a 5 minute cab / 15 minute walk to The Village. The hostel is family owned - they were so warm, welcoming and helpful, especially George who is a LEGEND!

The staff were friendly and helpful. One or two things had to be attended to in the early season but that was done promptly and efficiently. Very handy to the beach: a little further from the port and village.
