I don't expect a good nights sleep in a hostel but every night barrels of beer for the bar were wheeled out of one of the rooms at 12, not really sticking to your own policy of jeep the noise down late in the evenings.

This hostel suffers from the same problem as so many others in ski towns: The crowd at the hostel is made up mostly of psuedo-locals (ie. ski hill lifties and the like) who are living/working in town on visas for the year. Not a problem in itself, but it created a very "closed" atmosphere where people aren't really looking to meet anyone new or be overly social beyond their already established friends. In short, it lacks that open social, backpacker vibe but is still a nice facility.
