Great location, helpful staff, rubbish kitchen, but food is so good and cheap in ba anyway.
A clean and friendly hostel bang in the city centre of BA. The staff here were exceptional offering great advice and service. So good that we returned to book our tours with them despite moving hostels half way through our trip. The only downside to this hostel (which is more of a hotel) is that there is no social scene to get involved in. Great if you want to relax but not ideal if you want to make the most of the local party scene!
This was great value for BA. We had private en-suite room with aircon and TV for 250 a night and I couldn't find anything similar elsewhere. Breakfast was varied and plentiful. Kitchen was too small for more than 1 person to cook at a time but lots of cheap places to eat nearby. Great location, very easy to get metro to/from bus station. The 'blue dolar' really makes BA a very affordable city even on a backpacker budget.
Great location! Beautiful, historic building! Room was dirty when we got there, had to request new sheets. Large, spacious room with balconies. Staff very helpful! Internet NOT reliable. Leak in the roof during thunder storm - a bit concerning as we were on the middle floor... Kitchen is very very tiny with only one elec stove plate - takes 30 mins to boil water. Not a hostel where you can do own cooking. Breakfast was good, lots of fruit! Would NOT stay there again..
Horrible place. The rooms are dirty, the showers doesn't work properly (on the ones with a private bathroom), the kitchen has a water purifier that does not serve cold water, only hot. The freezer, also located in the kitchen, is a pure mess. When the hostel is full, energy power shuts down every 5 or 6 hours due do overload. The beds aren't confortable either. Unfortunately, of course, 'cause I was expecting a great trip.

We really enjoyed our stay in The Ritz, it had perfect location on 9 de Julio (at night though Palermo is probably a better choice), great atmosphere and nice rooms. Breakfast was included and the bedrooms had AC as well. The only dissappointing thing was that the Wifi would not work in the rooms and only the lounge area, which was a bit annoying and made for example skyping really difficult. Overall though we can recommend the hostel!
Did not like the place, found it kind of dark... It was clean. Although I didn't like the toilets. Not sure if I liked the staff, coz I didn't need them!

The best Hotel to be in Bs As city. Rooms are big with lockers inside. Breakfast is unlimited and delicious. The Location is great, you just have to avoid the interior streets when you take a walk. You are near of the main theatres, bus stop area to go to every point of the city and near of San Telmo bars (street named "Chile"). On Sundays you can visit the great and large fair on the street "Defensa", in San Telmo whee u´ll find many stands to shop articles made by the hand, and leather jackets
Kitchen very small and no atmosphere the time I was there unfortunately
Not a bad hostel. Very modern. Pros: modern, reasonably friendly staff, good location, wifi, nice breakfast. Cons: every single night we got food stolen, the kitchen has one hotplate that doesn't even get hot enough to boil water so no point cooking, if you are over 6ft your head and feet will be pressed hard on the bed heads (this was in a private room).
I enjoyed my stay at the Ritz, considering that it was in a good location and is very central. Mateo was a genius, he helped in every big or little means. My only complaint was the window in my room is not locked and secured and the cold winds at night seeps in causing a cold draft. Well, at least we had thick blankets.
The hostel was in a good location , but the room was terrible, really old and very poorly maintaneid. The bed clothes was terrible as well. The room location it was bad really close the the elevator and the corredor, so the noise starts at 7 in the morning, really strong. At the time they was remodeling the room beside and the corredor, so they were painting and the bad smeel was really strong and the noise as weel. The staff was helpfull and give my money back after i cancel the other days.
After moving from Hostel Suites Obelisco just down the road, we arrived at The Ritz hoping for a few more comforts in the cold weather. We were greeted with a free beverage, given a free upgrade to a superior double room (from a basic) and were generally pleased with the staff, the hostel facilities and the central heating. The room was a great size with two double beds for the two of us, great shower and bath, a balcony overlooking the main avenue and WiFi working in the room.
I recommend this hostel for the location, is exactly in the center of everything in BA. But I could recommend this hostel for the amazing staff who's there for any kind of question, always ready to help, to answer, to suggest, to smile and to party!
Great hostel in a very central location directly across a metro station. Great restaurants nearby and tons to do. Love this hostel and Buenos Aires. Definitely not a party hostel which was good for me. If you are looking for a rager every night look elsewhere. Chao
Excellent location near the center of the city. Ensuite toilet was a bit small but fair enough for a hostel. Place was clean and there was daily cleaning of the room. Difficult to fault the quality of the room. Place provides breakfast which includes different types of bread, cereal, fruits, yoghurt, assortment of tea and coffee (albeit nothing to rave about). Staff were friendly in providing directions and other assistance, including booking of bus tickets. Good hostel.
Pretty good hostel for the price you pay. Our first room had a broken toilet and wires sticking out of the wall but they moved us to another room with no problem. Breakfast was pretty good, croissants, bread roll, cereal and occasionally fruit and yoghurt. It could have been kept better stocked during breakfast time though. The coffee was really awful. They have a small drinks bar and there is plenty of information around reception. Old fashioned lifts were fun.
I booked an en-suite room for 2 people. Room and bathroom were in extreme bad condition. Not sure whether the sheets were cleaned regularly either. I came out with several insect bites and a bit of cold in the end. Staff was friendly in general (except the late night shift one), but there is a little that someone can do when the infrastructure is so poor. Probably one of the worst places I have lived in my entire life.
