Everything was nice. Unfortunately the walls are quite thin though and we had some very loud guests with us, so that I didn't get a lot of sleep. The hostel itself however is charming and the staff lovely.

The best breakfast I have ever enjoyed in a Hostel, and great tips from Charlie about places to have a dinner (a Chinese restaurant and a Welsh pub)

Stayed at the Riverhouse only for one night and it was a pleasant stay. The hostel is a big adapted house which makes it really cosy. It's got a nice kitchen and an awesome TV room. The rooms have just enough space and good space for storage. I liked the fact that the bathrooms were basically rooms with shower, toilet and sink, and there were plenty of them, but the shower drain was blocked which made the floor really disgusting. I think they could do with more cleaning in the bathrooms.

I would say that I'm not honest when I say that the staff is excellent, they are amazing. They are by far the nicest hostel owner I ever met, there are really kind, they seem to be interested in you and they really seem to love what they are doing. Plus, they both have cats which I enjoyed a lot!

Good location, nice staffs and clean bed&bathroom. Definately a place where i would like to stay again on my next trip to Cardiff.

Nice clean well equipped hostel in a central location the breakfast is excellent for the price of the overnight and extras like free tea & wifi in rooms are good, only criticism is the lack of space, the dorms and public area are small so can feel cluttered at busy times.

I had a great stay, the staff was very friendly and helpful. My email request was dealt with within an hour. The rooms, bathrooms and the kitchen were incredibly clean. And the breakfast was excellent. I didn't feel like I was staying in a hostel.

really good hostel, with the most amazing free breakfast I've seen!

We had a fantastic stay! Everything was very clean and both Charlie and Abi were extremely kind and helpful. My friend and I were traveling with quite a bit of luggage and we never worried about its security, even when we had to leave it with the hostel prior to check-in. The free breakfast was spectacular -- very impressed with the spread. The hostel also does free dinner nights sometimes so keep watch on the whiteboard there for posts. Overall, we had a great experience!

I've stayed there 2 night... absolutely well positioned in front the millennium stadium, very close to the cardiff central and all the central part of Cardiff.... The room and the bathroom were very clean and the receptionist Charlie (probably the boss) is willing to help all the customer... The breakfast for be an hostel was really very good and with a lot of choice.... the only problem can be the price, maybe too expensive, but the service received was very good....

Nice place, not as perfect as description and other reviews but still nice, free food and drinks on various days which is nice, and wifi seems good everywhere.

I really cannot fault this hostel. more like a home than a hostel, really lovely atmosphere. Abby is lovely, she also makes dinner every second night as well as the free breakfast. Free breakfast is amazing, hostel is clean and awesome location.

Great place, free breakfast was amazing every morning. Every few days they would offer free food in the evening, one day they offered apple pie another evening they offered pasta. Friendly staff willing sort out any problems such as having to stay extra nights staying extra nights. WARNING: There are 2 cats living in the hostel.

Staff are nice n friendly, free on left luggage that is very convenient. Highly recommended.
