I had a private room with a shared bathroom. The shower has an attached electric heater that did not work, so no hot water. The staff member I told, in Spanish, did not really care about the problem. So, the other shower had a bit of a line to get in. It's an easy location to get to on the Ecovia from Quitumbre or Riococa, and from there to other sites around the city. I'll probably go back just for this reason, and because there were no bed bugs and a beautiful view from the roof restaurant.

This maze-like hostel carries sound like you wouldn't believe. WiFi is only in two areas, and you are banned from those areas from 11PM -7AM. I was silently booking a plane ticket at 10:50PM, and I was kicked out of the WiFi zone and lights were turned out. Yet at 2:00AM, partners are throwing up and screaming from the same area. Frustrating. I did appreciate the day tours.

Hostel Staff just sat around all day not doing much at all. Turned on music to Cafe very early which is right next to dorms. even when there was no one in cafe. No Kitchen or facitilites to wash clothes either.

Hi the staff is there to assist guests, this is why they are always present on the terrace, just to assist the guests. On mornings, we put soft music from 08.00. We have no communal kitchen and nowhere we advertise that. We have a laundry service. Please read the conditions and amities of an hostel before you book. Thanks Florian

Stayed in private room on the third floor. the room smelled like mold. I'm guessing the Hostel just painted over it. I was only there one night and the smell penetrated my clothes soo much that i had to wash the clothes twice to get rid of the disgusting mold smell. the mold could be toxic and needs to be fixed.

Hi you are right on one point, the room was painted new the week before you stayed, there is absolutely no mold and if there was (which was not the case) we would have treated the walls before painting. We spend a lot of time, money and effort in maintaining the building. And just for your information, mold is not toxic. Next time your are in an hostel or hotel, if you are not satisfied with a room, just ask the staff to change..... Florian

Good service. Being able to leave luggage at facility between stays was great. Food was good. Excellent view of city from terrace.

We had a great 2-night stay here in Quito. WiFi was excellent, rooftop terrace beautiful, guard was there to let us in late at night. We had a double bedroom with shared bath and it was extremely clean. No windows, no soaps or anything to make it perfect but really was a great place to stay. Can walk to historical or "new Quito."

Great staff, great views, great place to meet people. drawbacks would be in our dorm 3 of the 6 lockers were broken, cold to luke warm showers mostly and the social areas ie common room and bar close strictly at 11pm, surely at least till 12pm???

Probably the best hostel I've ever stayed in. I especially appreciated the staff, who were very accommodating with our shifting travel plans. I can't stress enough how nice it is to have a hostel work WITH you, rather than AGAINST you, as your travel plans unexpectedly change.

An average hostel with a lot of stairs to climb. You can book a dinner in the evening, but its really not enough food they serve for you to feel full, not even for a tiny little girl. The security is excellent, with a guard outside and a safe in the privates. They dont have any computers. The room and bathroom was very clean.

Great hostel! There was a good vibe to the place and everyone staying here were really friendly! I liked the travel agency downstairs!

Very well organized hostel, lots of facilities including very good Spanish lessons (thats why we stayed a week here). Good location for old city, secure and a nice free city tour. Room was a bit dark but clean and comfortable. Unfortunately no good WiFi in the room. The view from the rooftop terrace is amazing. The only downside is the price - it seems a little bit too expensive compared to other hostels (in and around Quito), especially if you have dinner here.

The Secret Garden has so much character! The terrace restaurant and bar are great to sit and talk to other travelers. The view of the city cannot be surpassed! The staff was very helpful and accomodating. I would recommend Secret Garden to everyone. We will definitely stay there again.

A wonderful hostel with a lovely view of Quito. The staff are very helpful and there is the convenience of a tour agency located in it to easily book day trips and more right from the hostel!

The usual stuff really - can get a little loud at night (although that's mostly the staff who are really loud when checking people in after midnight) and has a million stairs (actually only 5 flights, but at this altitude that can be hard work). Wifi is only really reliable on the rooftop terrace. Staff are friendly, the meals are fantastic and the bed was comfortable.

We had a wonderful stay at the Secret Garden. Perfect location being so close to the old town, wonderful view over the city, very friendly staff and delicious food. Would definitely recommend!

Really hot showers (in my room at least), and a cool balcony to overlook the city and socialize at. I enjoyed my stay here. Staff wasn't anything that special in my opinion, but not a show stopper. They also have an area where you can have bon-fires, which that alone is a winner for me.

great hostel, excellent food, and great terace with spectacular view. We also spent 3 nights in Secret Garden Cotopaxi, which was more than worth to go there, it was one of the best hostels on our trip.

The hostel is in a great location, has an awesome view of the city and the old town. The old town is just a couple of minutes walk away, and the new town is only about 20 minutes walk away. The food is always good and its not too expensive. The hostel itself is really cold though, so I would always put loads of layers on and then find it was actually really warm outside.
