Easy to get to on the waterbus.very clean. Very friendly staff! Amazing directions! It was great to have breakfast and a kitchen to cook in since venice is so expensive! It got a bit cold at night. Very quiet. Good if you are traveling with a friend or just need a quiet place to stay by yourself. Would definitely stay here again.

It's a really nice, airy and sunny place and a very good base camp for exploring Venice. However I think it has potential to be a really great hostel, but isn't quite there yet. My advice to Massimo, who really already does a good job, is to think about how he could make the common area and the kitchen area more welcoming and fit more people. Maybe take the entrance area into use somehow, since now you just walk through there. Make it even comfier and more welcoming and it'll be awesome!

One of the best hostels i stayed in...actually, more like a guest house. Very quiet, ideal for rest. Great breakfast and very clean facilities.

The location of the hostel was excellent and it had wonderful views! The facilities were good and the staff were really helpful and friendly. In terms of Venice prices its fairly reasonable too.

I LOVED this location. It was away from the big crowds but still had a beautiful view and neighbourhood. Great for afternoon naps. The directions on how to find it however were less than ideal. I was lost for 2 hours carting my luggage around before I finally got on a water bus. Staff was nice. But nothing special. It was clean and a great location and the rooms were spacious. And a good value for how expensive everything is in Venice.

My room has very good view. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Free breakfast is very good and you can ask the manager to cook for lunch or dinner with the price of 4or 5 euros, which is much cheaper than eating outside. Room is spacious and facilities are good except shower water pressure is weak. It takes loads of time if you've got long hair.

This is a lovely place to stay. Massimo, the manager. is both professional and friendly and will go out of his way to be as helpful as possible. He also offers a very reasonably priced evening meal. The entire hostel is spotlessly clean, mattresses new and comfortable and the dorm room that I stayed in has a beautiful view over the canal to Guidecca Island. I hope to visit Venice again soon and will definitely stay here if there is a vacancy.

Its staff was very kind, and the atmosphere and facilities was very good. Above all, the view from the windows are wonderful! I love venezia including this nice hostel! However, before you go to venice, you should make sure how to get there(especially how to find this hostel after getting off the vaporetto).

This hostel is very small so it might not be the best for socializing. However, I loved it. I stayed in a 4 bedroom female dorm and it was very spacious. The bathroom was clean and I never had to wait for it. It is really easy to find if you take the water taxi.

Really nice clean hostel, my window was looking out to the water which was so lovely. The staff are very helpful, it is probably the best hostel in venice but you do pay for that. Location was good for me but i dont mind walking though the gorgeous streets of venice to get to my destination, thats half the fun. Thanks guys :) I will reccommend to all i know!

This was a really nice hostel situated in a beautiful and central area of Venice. From my bedroom there were excellent views of the water. The ambiance is lacking slightly as there is no common room with lots of people and it suits people who prefer a quiet, comfy stay. The bedroom was comfortable and it was good to see single beds rather than bunk beds. It did get a little hot at night but I'd prefer that than cold! The staff are helpful but the map I was given was a bit outdated.

A very nice hostel in a beautiful, non-touristy location. Supermarket, hot food, and gelato right out the door, as well as water bus. The free WiFi is really nice, and the staff are excellent and helpful. Also, only single beds, NOT bunk beds, it's nice for a change! The kitchen has everything you need to cook a meal if you want to. I'm not much of a breakfast eater, but the free breakfast looked nice, and I really appreciated the coffee--good italian coffee from a caffetiere!

I really enjoyed my stay at the Silk Road! The dorms are really spacious. Bathrooms are modern and very clean! The hostel is in an ideal location, right beside the shore of the Giudecca Canal! In close proximity to a grocery store and restaurants. The owner and staff of the hostel were very welcoming, accomodating and helpful! They need a bigger dining space though because the kitchen is quite small with only one table for 4 people. Overall, it really made me feel at home in Venice!

Silk Road is in every way an excellent guest house. We enjoyed our stay greatly, especially the freedom (your own front door key ), the kitchen, and the single beds instead of bunkbeds. This, in addition to a friendly and capable staff and owner duo, makes us look forward to our next visit to Silk Road and Venice! Frederik / Kristel

It's not bad to stay in here. The best part is that there is no BUNK BED, but still there are some space for improvement. The wifi there is extremely slow. Sometimes I even cannot get in facebook or send pictures on my phone. Another thing is that the kitchen is quite small. There is only a table for 4 people. It's quite inconvenient in the morning to have breakfast. You always need to wait, however the breakfast is offered just until 10. It become rush in the morning.
