+Hotel is located in a good area, near everything (walking distance to china town, MTR-station etc.) You should pay about 400 pesos for metered taxi. - Hotel's elevator was old and if you were between the doors they would have "crushed" you. There were no safe mechanism. Definitely this hotel is not for child families. -Room was clean, but smelled like tobacco. -Safe deposit was out of order. We didn't feel safe to keep our passports and money in theroom so we kept them with us all the time.

Have enjoyed my stay at Southern Cross Hotel very much - very friendly and helpful staff - good kitchen/food! and an enjoyable bar. Enjoyed the good bed, in-room safe, big shower/hot water and soft big towels! Additionally it is very well located: walking distance to Manila Bay, Rizal park, Intramuros, Robinson mall and even a Roman Catholic church across the street - where one can confess his sins ;-)).
