Can only speak for downstairs room one which we stayed in but the room was very musty, beds very uncomfortable and noisy, every time someone moved you could hear the creaks. A lot of noise and smoke coming into the room from the courtyard outside the room. Bathrooms didn't look like they had been cleaned. Stayed at a few places in Antigua & definitely would return to the terrace, better value for money places around.
The terrace has a great view and usually a great atmosphere, too. Activities for the guests are a plus. Owner and other employees are very friendly and helpful.
very friendly and helpful staff. had to cancel spontaneausly our stay there. they didn't charge our room and allowed us to use the facilities there the whole day!
Very amazing place , we left Tropicana cause we heard Terrance was amazing , from Maggie at the reception who was always such a help, such a positive lady. We were supposed to stay 2 night , we stayed 5 in total . Very cool bar upstairs with amazing staff Kathy is a champion making the best volcano shots and your not waiting 2 seconds for your beer , she also did out route for Mexico and place to stay . Jose was the pub crawl champion , such a great night and it's free.

We have booked two nights in a 4 beds room, we were in 2 couples. I emailed the hostel before to make sure we would stay together. When we got there, we had the surprise that one man was already in our room and we would have to split. They did not let us know before hand, just when we got there. The hostel did not remove the guy to another room, and they simply thought we would be ok with it - not acceptable. Bathrooms were dirty.
Small hostel. Staff are friendly but the food is expensive and doesn't really have a friendly vibe however nothing beats the view of the volcano from your window In the morning
My friend and I booked here for three nights, but ended up staying for five. Overall it's a nice hostel, friendly staff, and a cool bar area upstairs, with cheap beers! Only room for improvement could be the showers. Apart from that, great stay. I'll be coming back.
Good hostel, great view, friendly staff for the most part. Amazing view, ok wifi, no free breakfast or kitchen for guests. Jose is the man. All around can't wait to go back!
Nice rooftop terrace with a great view over the surrounding volcanoes. Comfortable and clean beds. Super nice staff, food and drinks are a little overpriced, though.
There wasn't much space for hanging out with other people in the hostel. Only 1 shower per floor. Breakfast was tasty though!
My second time in Antigua, and staying at The Terrace. I stayded for 8 nights. it's cheap, has a bar, and is a great place to meet people and have fun. The staff is very helpful and nice :) This is a place for FUN! it's not the place to stay if u'r looking for comfort, cleanliness and a quiet place, but I def.would recommend this hostel
Best view in Antigua, great food/drink and divine staff...
Apart from the amazing view and the cheap happy hour beer this place wasn't as good as I expected from the high ratings. The food in the terrace bar was very bad and basic and loads of non-guests in the bar. The room was OK i guess, though only 2 bathrooms for the whole place.
Great atmosphere, the shared bathroom wasn't so comfortable...
