Nice location...close to the beach, bars, restaurants, etc. A lot of fun people seem to come through so it's easy to make quick friends. My only complaint is that there are no lockers for the dorm rooms. Makes security of big items a bit tough, but other than that a pretty decent spot. I enjoyed my time there. PLus a POol:)

It was a very nice place to stay, and there was a good "hostel-vibe" (even it is more a hotel then a Hostel) around the outdoor kitchen- and poolarea. The rooms are pretty standard and clean. But The doormrooms are okay..

The best thing about this hostel is it's location, just one block to the beach and one block to all the shops and cafes. I stayed in a 4-bed dorm and it was really spacious with a clean bathroom. It would have been good to have lockers in the room.

They didn't let me in the dorms because I was a US citizen travelling without a passport. The requirement to carry a passport for all guests including US citizens is very well hidden at the bottom of the reservation and you have to scroll down to see it on screen. I had to take a private room for $128 instead. The receptionist said a few people a week have this problem. It's a profit center for them. Well, I will dispute the bill with my credit card and report them to FL consumer protection.

The woman at the front desk was very helpful and nice. She was very knowledgeable about the club scene and even found us a place to golf and fixed the remote control to our TV!! This place is a gem. There is a 24Hr Walgreens down the block next to a great place that serves breakfast til 2p La Provance. The only draw backs were in our room (private w/ queen bed) there were no grounded outlets to charge my laptop and free wifi only in the lobby. I was glad that there was a safe to store stuff.

Miami is expensive so felt the hostel was good value for the area. The location was great and the kitchen/dining area had a pleasant feel. The kitchen could have been better equipped. It was good to be able to meet other travellers. We have travelled extensively around the world and felt comfortable at the Tropics

Make sure there is enough space in the luggageroom, last time we had to leave it on the main hall without supervision/responsability of the hotel.

Really enjoyed my stay here. The location is perfect and the hostel is good value for money. Had a private room, it was comfortable and clean which is all I ever really want. It was quieter than other hostels but still had a good communal area to sit and drink and chat. It's not a party hostel but is a great place to get good value for money in a perfect location with helpful friendly staff and the opportunity to meet other travelers.

We are cold but they don't provide bed cover but very thin cover. After taking a shower, they don't have a towel or hair dryer. We had wet pillow after we just entered a new room. The window at bathroom can not close so people can see inside. I think the room is 103 maybe The female staff's attitude was bad after we asked some questions.

We had a great time at the Tropics because NICE staff, GREAT location and AMAZING atmosphere. There is a kitchen with big freezer were you can put your stuff in brown bags and cook outside next to the large swimmingpool! We even extend or stay because we loved it so much! And because we had a walk in closet ;)

We found a cockroach in our hotel room and when we explained the incident to a lady at the front desk, she was extremely uncooperative plus, she gave us lot of attitude and accused of us lying because the cockroach was not there (which ran away to a room across the hall). Moreover, they did a false advertisement which led us to be surprised because the pictures of room, facility on hostelworld.com was totally different. The money on spending this hostel was not worthy at all.

The location is super and the staff are very helpful and keep the hotel clean. They need to add more cooking utensils to the kitchen and another cutting board.

Great value for a hotel/hostel. We stayed in a double & we're treated extremely well like hotel guests & had access to all facilities. Great price for the location. Basic hotel but had everything we needed. Extremely helpful & friendly staff. Would definitely go back.
