I wasn't quite sure how this hostel has such a good rating on Hostelworld. On the plus side, it has a great location and the staff were friendly. However our room was disappointing. It felt old and uncared for, poorly lit and with no character or charm. There was no top sheet provided, only a rough and uncomfortable blanket. It was also a long haul to get there up 4 flights of steep stairs. I can't blame the staff at all, the hostel is just in dire need of a renovation.

Really liked our stay there and the staff is great! It's also handy that there's a common area downstairs and you can help yourself to some coffee & tea.

I was very unimpressed by this hostel. The dorm room we were in was best described as dingy. The AC was off during the afternoon, so it was blazing hot on the 6th floor. It was loud at night; there were cockroaches on the ground floor; the bathrooms felt used and unclean.

Nice quiet place with very friendly and helpful staff. Location is useful in terms of shopping, eating and getting the skytrain. Wifi is pretty quick and they have a computer for anyone without a laptop. Price is good compared to most places but not the best hostel in the world by any stretch as there is no common room/bar/tv room/kitchen and this part of town isn't known for its tourist spots. the street markets are pretty cool though

staff are amazing. good english and extremely helpful. will answer every question you have. great location for jumping off to various point of the city. i stayed in the 6 room door then a night in the 2 single bed room. you can surely find a nicer hostel but you will not find nicer staff and bang for buck. will stay again if i go back to bangkok

The hostel was great! The staff was extremely helpful, friendly and professional. The rooms were incredibly clean, no signs of bugs at all, and the location was perfect, not in the hub of everything tourist, but around market areas and near the Sky Rail.

I love this place. The owner and staff are good people. They are willing to help you with anything at anytime. To be honest, I don't understand how they manage to be so nice. If I owned a hostel, I'd probably be unable to do so. I have stayed at this hostel more than once, and I have to say that I always have an amazing stay. Every time that I have stayed here, the staff helped me plan my time in Thailand.

I agree that some things seemed old, and the bathrooms were lacking soap and, at times, toilet paper. There is a good market right outside and down the road, I think Silom 6. If you can ignore all the people trying to persuade you into the ping pong show, you will have a good time. I have to say this was overall an enjoyable place to stay because of the location. In Bangkok you shouldn't spend all your time in the room. check out weekend market and khao san road!!

Hostel was in good place near bts station and staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Rooms were big and comfortable only thing is that in the 10 bed dorm the bed which is right from the door squeeks really badly. Otherwise hostel was great because they had much info about thailand and bangkok and also a little info about the scams in the area. And the most important thing, they had warm showers.

I enjoyed my stay very much! It is located in the centre of the city, MRT and skytrain station are in 5 mins walk. One of the highlight is the kind hospitality of their staffs. They gave us a lot of useful info. of where to go and what to do in New Year Eve. There is a lovely lobby providing free coffee & coca, u can meet other travellers as well. My friend had problem with her passport and she had to stay over there for some extra nights, the kindful help form the staff were highly appreciated.

The management is very hospitable and helpful. We really appreciated the welcome at 2 am (which is when we arrived at the hostel) and directions to places in Bangkok.

This hostel is in a very central and convenient location. You can easily ride the skytrain (only 5 minutes away) and see all the sights in the city for cheap (no taxis necessary). It's also in a very lively fun location. The night markets open up each evening and there are tons of good bars, restaurants or massages (legitimate ones) nearby. The staff was also incredibly helpful, friendly and spoke great English. We asked many questions and they were always great at offering opinions and advice.

Location was the best part. Cleanliness was not amazing but doable. The staff is friendly. They don't have any free computers, just free wi-fi. They should however get a printer so travelers could print things if they need it. All-in-all it was ok.

Staff was very friendly. Unfortunately the building itself wasn't that great. the room is on the fifth floor and the building is a tad dumpey. The shower was also so so. But then again it was the cheapest in the area. Across the street HQ was better but a tad more expensive.

The Urban Age is a nice enough place with a slightly downtrodden appearance. The bed felt like I was sleeping on a ribcage. Security is over-the-top as the front door was locked at almost every hour of the day, even when staff was at reception. Mixed dorm on the 6th floor without a lift makes for a nice workout and a painful reminder in case you forget something in the room. Staff is friendly enough. OK location with small walk to BTS through Patpong area, very crowded.

A really good hostel in a nice area that's easy to reach by skytrain! The staff was really helpfull and always asked about our plans and try to help us making it even better! There's not a real lounge area so it's a bit harder to meet up with people. Although if you're in the mixed dorm it should be fine. Thanks for the stay :D

Nice location near a Skytrain stop (Sala Daeng) and the Patpong Night Market. Bathrooms consisted of two shower stalls and a toilet on floors 3, 4 and 5, each leading into the hallway, which was slightly weird and not very private. Hostel had one computer to use (only the first 5 minutes were free; after that they charged), and they didn't have a printer (this was extremely annoying since there was no convenient internet cafe nearby). Dorm beds were okay, but no electrical plugs near upper bunks
