The Urban Age is a nice enough place with a slightly downtrodden appearance. The bed felt like I was sleeping on a ribcage. Security is over-the-top as the front door was locked at almost every hour of the day, even when staff was at reception. Mixed dorm on the 6th floor without a lift makes for a nice workout and a painful reminder in case you forget something in the room. Staff is friendly enough. OK location with small walk to BTS through Patpong area, very crowded.

Dear guest, Thank you for your review. The dorm bed that you slept on the cage. To be exact, you were quite tall (2M) and our bed is the size of 3 feet 6 inches width x 6 feet 8 inches length which is the standard single size sold in Thailand. Even though many guests said our bed is big, were worried that you were uncomfortable due to your height. And to walk to the nearest skytrain BTS station (Saladaeng), you can simply walk on Silom road, no need to pass the crowded street like Patpong area. It was only 3-4 mins to the skytrain. Sincerely yours, Urban age

A really good hostel in a nice area that's easy to reach by skytrain! The staff was really helpfull and always asked about our plans and try to help us making it even better! There's not a real lounge area so it's a bit harder to meet up with people. Although if you're in the mixed dorm it should be fine. Thanks for the stay :D

Dear guests, Thank you for your nice review. We are trying our very best to ensure all guests have a pleasant stay and if they need any help, we are happy to assist ^--^ Maybe you have forgot that you were sitting in our lounge area and talking to us and other guests for quite a while in some evenings during your stay:) Hope to see you again and all the best, Urban age

Nice location near a Skytrain stop (Sala Daeng) and the Patpong Night Market. Bathrooms consisted of two shower stalls and a toilet on floors 3, 4 and 5, each leading into the hallway, which was slightly weird and not very private. Hostel had one computer to use (only the first 5 minutes were free; after that they charged), and they didn't have a printer (this was extremely annoying since there was no convenient internet cafe nearby). Dorm beds were okay, but no electrical plugs near upper bunks

Dear Guest, Thank you for your review. The bathrooms in our hostel are shared. There are doors and can be locked, so it is very private and safe once you are in there. For computer, our computer in the hostel has been hardly used because nowadays many guests have their own laptops and smart phones. We provide free wifi 24 hrs. For the printer, there are printer shops/internet cafes nearby (only a few mins walks from the hostel). We have already checked with our staff and we found that you did ask for the printer at 11 pm which the shops are already closed. We explained to you that we can print it for you the next day but you left very early on that day. For the electrical plugs in the room, there are. You can see them from the bottom of your bed. Next time if you have any special request that you need during your stay, please come to talk to us directly so that we can make your stay pleasant. Regards, Urban age

Only sleeping on the floor would be worse than those mattresses

Dear guest, Thank you for your response. We are not sure what you meant with the mattress. The mattress which we provided in our hostel is not a soft sunken one, but firm enough to support your back. Mattress is quite subjective, some prefer soft, some prefer hard. When you checked out, we did ask you how your stay with us was. You said it was no problem. Next time, during your stay, if you have any special request or anything, feel free to let us know. Regards, Urban age
