Joe Scott was a wonderful host and Ian was an excellent manager. I enjoyed meeting Frank, Kevin, and the other guests from France, the Netherlands, and Finland during my short stay.

This hostel is more like a large shared house than a hostel really - if you like a little privacy you may not like this. When we arrived we asked if it was okay for us to share a double bed and assured that the hostel was safe and secure. When we woke up in the morning there were two guys asleep in the front room and the front door was unlocked! The staff were friendly and refunded us some money after they over-charged us. Overall: a little unorganised.

A really friendly place in a sometimes unfriendly city. In a good neighbourhood and 15 minutes walk to Venice beach. The owner and staff are really friendly and you will always find one of them hanging around to talk about getting places and any other advice. The hostel is exceptionally clean, a real rarity. The only issue I had was the privacy is somewhat limited - the bathrooms do not lock so you only have the toilet cubicle and the shower door to separate you from other people in the bathroom

Nice hostel with the flair of a family's house. I stayed here for two weeks and had a great time!

This hostel looks like a big house. It has a good kitchen and a good common room. There are only 2 bathrooms. The rooms are filled with beds, think we had 12 in ours in a room that is not that big. It was about an half hour walk to Venice Beach which was a bit of a hike.

None of the doors have locks and the front door to the house is always open. There are only 2 bathrooms in the entire house which had at least 10 people at all times while we were there. Overall ok stay, was extremely uncomfortable when one of the staff asked a guest if she was a "bad girl" and to come find him if she was. Ian the owner was extremely nice and hospitable.

The staff is one of the friendliest staff I've encountered. This hostel has a unique setting of being in an actual house-turned-hostel. The facilities were clean and kept up very well. I would recommend this hostel to anyone and will hopefully have a chance to visit it again in the future.

Overall was good. But if you are going to travel mainly to downtown, this location is a little bit too far to downtown, but very close to the beach. This hostel is pretty much cheap and what you pay what you get. I'm quite satisfied.

We had a terrible experience with this hostel. The address is wrong. It is not in Venice beach but the suburb next door, meaning no taxi driver, GPS or street directory could not find the Hostel. Tax was not included in the price so we ended up paying an extra $10 on arrival. We were also treated extremely rudely and intimidated by a staff member when we asked for our money back because we were put in a 14 bed dorm instead of the 8 bed dorm we booked. He also refused to give us the manager's #.

This is a great hostel located a 20 min walk from venice boulevard. The hostel was great, free breakfast, $1 beers, free internet, free detergent for a washer and dryer that costs only $2.50 and actually cleans your clothes! We paid the little extra to stay in the only private double twin but it was sooo worth it! The dorm rooms looked quite crowded but but we were in a similar sized room for 2 with a bath, 2 sinks, a tv and a toilet! Bit cold in the night tho only downside.

Good hostel, staff friendly and helpful. Good location, close to the airport, bus straight there in 20 min, walking distance to Venice Beach, bars, shopping etc. I stayed here once then came back a second time. You can easily get a bus to Santa Monica, Hollywood etc. Good value for money and better than staying in Hollywood. It's like a big house, great if you want to chill but can drink as well if you want. Deff recommend it, also has good parking if you have a car.
