We stayed in private double room, guests had no access to kitchen facilities, staff behaving as they are doing you a favour and treat guests as nuisance, no room cleaning for 3 days we stayed in ( no bath mat exchanged or towels) , extra charges for towels, cockroaches in bedroom and kitchen, poor access for the car park and no sign posted, poor wifi reception in bedrooms
According to the name the ocean view is quite nice. Paying 200 Reais (aprox.68 €/ 90USD) a night for a private room for 2 persons, I do expect a certain comfort. To be precise, a hot shower, a room which is not smelly. The private rooms are overpriced. You are not allowed to use the kitchen and to bring alcohlic drinks, you have to buy drinks at the bar. But you can get a very delicous diner everynight there for around 22 Reais ( aprox.7 €).
We loved our stay here. 5 min walk to praia Mole - which is my favorite in the island- and a 20 min walk to the Praia da Joaquina. It's also close to the bus stop to go to the other beaches. The staff is really friendly and nice! Breakfast is goo and they also serve dinner at night which is very handy if you spent all day at the beach and don't feel like going out. The rooms are okay, we stayed in a 8 bed dorm. The only down point is there is no kitchen for the guests, not even a fridge.
The location is perfect, right between Praia Mole and Lagoa da Conceição, and the view is truly amazing. It's a great place to relax, quiet at night, and because it's on top of the hill, it's always breezy. Bathrooms are inside the rooms, which is great, and always looked very clean. Staff is friendly and helpful. Just be prepared for some exercise, because there's a LOT of going up and down the hill and the stairs. But definetely a great place to stay.
Take advantage of the dinners of the hostel - the food is great. Ask the cook for the maracuja mousse.
I would def recommend this place to anyone. The staff made it so lively, I was supposed to stay only 2 days and I stayed 6 instead.

Very relaxed place, with beautiful sea views. No breakfast is served outside the high season which is a pity.
