Okay hostel to stay in when you jump off the Ferry, good sized dorms, staff could be friendlier.

Beautiful little hostel covered in flowers and nice coloured walls. Feels like a homely little maze with loads of places to chill out. Felt very safe and at home, also very easy to walk 5 mins to and from the ferry port and town. Could have been improved with lockers for valuables in rooms and wifi extending to reach The Cottage - but works well in the main area.

Some sort of lockers or secure area for stuff is my only complaint to an otherwise beautiful backpackers with a fantastic central garden terrace.

A very good stopover. The building is strange, with additions and rooms of all shapes and ages. It functioned like two hostels, as the old addition has its own toilets, lounge, and kitchen. The bottleneck was in the morning when most people were rising, the 2 regular and 1 handicap toilets were inadequate, and someone didn't refill one toilet paper dispenser. A couple of urinals would be an easy fix. The staff were always very helpful. We could stay until our transport time and then get a lift.

Quirky little hostel. I stayed in the cottage, which had its own kitchen and lounge area. Very intimate atmosphere, and nice mix of people. The management seems a little disorganized but everyone was friendly and helpful.

The Villa is perfectly located in Picton and a really comfortable, fun place to stay. I'd definitely recommend it!

Good hostel, very good common areas, although access to a personal locker would be a definite plus.

Good place to stay except for the pillows, they were stained and should have protectors on. R

Amazing space; one of the best hostels I've stayed at. Such a great community feel, large space, clean amenities, great people. Staff are all young doing work away visas from all over the world. Greta vibes and atmosphere. Not much security, no lockers to lock bags, but not really a place that needs it.

The Villa has everything you could possibly need on a short (or potentially longer) stopover in Picton. Not only is it clean, quiet, and well-equipped with necessities, but it is also quite a pretty, little hostel. I loved the outdoor areas and its simplicity. I only spent one night there, but the staff were always able to answer my questions, the 10 bed dorm (The Swamp) was just fine (and with nice, clean bedding), and the kitchen was great. I didn't ask about lockers, but I felt quite secure.

Nice hostel with helpful staff encountered. Clean. Fairly social. Got free apple crumble which was a bonus. Has a nice hot tub and outside area. Wifi doesn't seem to reach to all rooms is the only downside id say.

The best hostel for me ever, so far :). The atmosphere, wow. A good thing though would be small lockers for your valuables. Thx for everything.

A gorgeous hostel, well situated for ferry terminal (a shuttle was provided which was a bonus as it was raining when we arrived). Garden is beautiful and house very quaint. Loved the added touches of hot apple crumble in the evening. Would definitely recommend.

The Villa is an awesome hostel for staying a few nights after coming or before going to the north island! Great atmosphere and I loved the hot apple crumble with ice cream every evening!
